How should I do salary negotiation at the time of taking interview?

I have 5 years of experience and take 2.5 lac salaries per annum. I have got good opportunity and they are ready to negotiate the salary. I am afraid to negotiate. But I know my potential and why should I be paid more. Can anybody tell me how to do salary negotiation at the time of taking interview?

You can demand high salary with your next employer, if you have the right kind of knowledge and experience for that profile.

If you see that employer is ready to take you and are really interested to take you on board in their company

Before you do salary negotiation, do a little research about salary paid to employees for that type of profile in other companies of same size and scale
also if possible try to get the information about salary paid to employess for that position in that company

Than decide on what the max salary you can ask and on what min salary you will be ready to work there.

Also make sure that dont demand unrealistic salary to your next employer.

Since you are getting 2.5 lakhs you can demand a max of 25-30% hike in salary and if they do not agree you can settle for anything between 18-20% hike
You start with your max salary that you want and let them respond and accordingly you can decrease your demand if required.

Hi. I think you shouldnt be afraid of salary negotiation and have confidence in yourself. While the interview is taking place you should be straightforward in your approach.

You should tell the interviewer about your experience and previous achievements and what salary are you taking previously. They are sure to give you such salary as you are worth.

Dont hesitate to tell all your achievements and be confident of yourself. You are sure to get good salary.

    Best of luck. Thanks

    Heyy

I think you should stand up for yourself. If you are confident enough and so much experienced and you are getting a chance to negotiate you can ask for a increase of salary.

Be as straight forward as possible. Just have a good discussion and tell them what you think you are worth considering your talent and experience.

If they really value your talent they will just agree to your conditions. If they dont agree you will get enough companies so just walk away in a polite manner i am sure you will be called back.

    All the best

    Hi friend,
First let them know your roles and responsibilities in the old organization. Don't hesitate to tell about your achievements.
After that they will ask your expected salary. Then without hesitation ask them you want 30% of previous CTC. They will ask why they have to pay that much to you. In an impressive manner explain your skills and hands on experience in the technology.
They will let you know their package. But demand them to give 20% of previous CTC. They will for sure give you .

    All the best !!
