    How to reduce the usage of mobile among the employees in their workplace?

    I am team leader in a FIC company. 10 people are working under my team. Most of the time I see the employees busy in mobile for long hours. My repeated advice is not stopping them from using it. Can anybody help me in this? How to reduce the usage of mobile among the employees in their workplace?

    Hi Friend,
    Excessive usage of mobile will affect work. As a company like yours work in a tight timeline to meet deliverables you need to ensure employees are focused in work.
    Rules needs to be stringent in this case. Please discuss with your employees and ask them that they can take their personal calls during lunch hours and after office hours.
    Make them understand about its negative impact to the deliverables as well as to office atmosphere.Make this communication clear in emails and if required involve HR for further communication or actions.

    Mobile is very necessary term or important thing in our life. It is the best medium to connect one to another easily manner.
    But if your team member use the Mobile on working time then it will affect the Company work. Because in mobile there
    are lot peoples calls your candidate mobile phones then it will disturb in work, So I think YOU should restriction in Mobile in working hour.
    You can also take the fine on Mobile calling.

    Hi. Ya i think it is really bad that your employees are not fully concentrating on their work and using their mobiles so much which acts as a deterrant in their work efficiency.

    You should implement strict rules against such practices and not let your employees get away with it.

    Firstly you warn them. If they dont agree Confiscate their mobiles when they enter the office especially of the culprits and give it to them only during break time.

    Or you can impose a certain fine for unnecessary use of mobiles which will be deducted from their salaries.

    I recommend you to please talk to your manager regarding making new policy for this. You can pass the policy for keeping cell phones inside locker before coming to floor. Moreover, you can also impose fine and of the employees if they d not follow this new policy. The better way to construct a good team is to be polite and frank with the employees. You can ask them that you are not stopping them to do so if it is up to a particular limit else they have to pay fine for the same as per the new policy. If it's needed then be strict with the employees.

    See all companies have such policies which prohibits the usage of mobile on the operations floor.
    These policies are told to the employees at the time of joining and also these policues are available in the company intranet.

    First thing is that you should send a reminder mail to all your team members about these policies and telling tham to adhere to these policies all the time they are in the operations floor.Also tell them if rules are not follwed than actions will be taken as per the policies of the company.

    Also make sure that you as a team lead should not attend or make any personal calls on the operations floor.

    Also in team briefings, repeat these things .
    If any member is again voilating the rules even after this mail, issue him the warning letter.

    Being a team lead if the employees doesn't obey the words . Then its absolutely of disrespect . Employees are very lethargic in their work . Make a complaint to the manager or HR about the employee even after repeated warnings , employee is using mobile in office hours which affects the work that is to be completed

    In this case , the employee will be warned seriously or may get terminated too if taken to higher levels . Next time the employee is terminated for sure with bad conduct which will spoil the future career .

    So tell the problems that will arise if complaint is made to the employees to be aware . Hope this will work

    Dear Aspirant,

    If they are busy in official talks,then it is good otherwise it is not good.Issue instructions in writting to maintain a written record of the making mobile calls & its receiving.Provide them a register to them & enquire of those calls.I think this is the best measure to control the mobile calls of the employee.Latter you can get a print of the same from the concerned mobile office in order to cross checking of employees 'mobile records.

    Hi friend

    I think you should certainly punish your employees for such misbehaviour and tell them that you wont tolerate such nuisance at your workplace and to concentrate on your work more than indulging in long talks on their mobiles..Call them to your office and reprimand them and that i think is the best way to handle such a situation..They will also come to know that they cant take undue advantage of you and thus will maintain the rules and decorum in the workplace and also learn to respect their leader..

    Strictly tell them that whoever is found using mobile unnecessarily during office hours will be sent out of workplace at once without any warning and will be marked absent for such inappropriate behaviour..Only such strict measures will make your employees learn their mistakes and then they will not repeat such things in future..

    But if you think you should not treat them so harshly first try to teach them politely and then adopt to such measures..

    I understand your problem by using mobiles the work done by them gradually decreases.I would like to suggest you that as you are a Team leader Order them not to use mobile or else you will be fired.Because,after your several attempts by being polite there is no change in their attitude.This action surely works if you are in a commanding way towards them.

    dear sir you are the team leader of a financial company and more than 10 employees' are serving under you,often you need to talk with them for the official purpose.but it is the sad facy you can not contact at the right time because whenever you call a engaged or busy tone you are hearing.
    In such a situation you are to handle the matter effectively.you call them all and ask then the way to solve the problem.

    dear friend you are the team leader of financial company now you are facing problem that you can not contact with the 10 team member as and when you need to talk with the for official purposes.because your team members' remain engage with calling others' this is an common problem,during office hours if employees are engaged with convercesion then how you will solve the problem?

    under the situation you can ask all of your team members together and tell them about the problem and give direction to findout the ways' and means' to control the usage of mobile as well the way through which media you can contact with them within the second of time at least during office hours.

    Mobile has both positive and negative impact. There some work where without phone calls, the working doesn't get it's speed. So prohibiting completely the phone calls wouldn't been an solution to this problem. You must tell them to use mobile phone for personal purpose only during leisure time but not during working time. Tell them to keep the mobile in silent, if they get any necessary calls then only they must pick it up otherwise they must avoid it. Being an leader of the time, you should also follow this rule and set an example before team members, so that they easily obey your instructions.

    You may fallow below these options are:

    Don't allow to call to anybody in working hour.

    Don't allow to mobile to have employees on workplace.

    If employees have mobile in working hour you can charge them as a punished

    Please help company's HR or management team to overcome

    Please take action strongly against him otherwise you spoil your office environment.

    As a team leader who should not entertain this kind of behavior of your team members.. this is very unprofessional on part of those employees in your team, as a team leader you should warn them them because during work times using phone and having conversation is very bad they have no seriousness about working in your team,better report this matter to manager,take concrete action about this,warn them that they will be removed from the project team be serious otherwise your reputation is under scanner.. my dear friend discipline is important in work place.. make your views seriously.. they are not in team for just making conversations in office

    Hello dear, this thing have been seen so many times in various premises because this is the necessary thing at the present world and because of this, so many employees does not work concentratively in the office and are not dedicated to the company and still there is no proper solution of this problem but only one more thing may stop this problem in your office which is - STRICT RULES AND REGULATIONS

    If you would be hard to your team and order them to not use the mobile phones during the working hours then you can stop it but you should not advice or suggest them because advice is not enough and request is also a foolish work because they are addicted to the mobile phones that is why you would have to make some strict rules in your office and for your team and you should make a very good poster where you should mention - NO MOBILE PHONES ALLOWED OR ZONE OR STRICTLY RESTRICTED then it may effect at them but making too hard strict rules are also may affect your team working so that you should provide at least 30 minutes separate for mobile phone using because there may be some important things whatever they talk so you should stop them completely and provide 30 minutes specially for mobile phone talking and i am sure that this would effect them

    Mobile is very important for everyone in today's life so you cannot ban permanently .Use of mobile during reducing the overall efficiency of employee but it also help in communication so here are some tips to be followed-

    1 Tell them to use mobile in free hrs only

    2 tell them to keep mobiles in silent mode so that other will not get disturbed.

    3 Prefer message instead of call so that other will not get disturbed

    4 If your office is very sensitive then write notice-"use of mobiles inside office is prohibited "
