    How to reduce absenteeism of employees in small company?

    I am working as an HR executive in a small company. Now days I have noticed lots of absenteeism in this company. Employees are taking leaves for various reasons and work is stuck because of this. Can anybody tell me how to reduce absenteeism of employees in small company?

    Hi,


    There is something wrong that is going on in your company .

    Validate the Managers and leads work status ans ask for updates regularly

    Absentism of employees is possible only under manager approval

    So Problem may be due to manager's negligent work which in turn due to manager's Head is not ask for work updates

    When there is work to be completed how can the employees avail leave and how the manager can approve it

    Due to this , employees lost the interest to work and take leaves easily

    Also intimate the employees circle unnecessary leaves are considered under loss of pay

    Ask for proofs to be submitted to avail leave .. Else don't grant the leave

    Hi. I can understand your situation. Many employees do take leaves for various baseless reasons. You should try to give them incentives like bonus or extra credit or some encouraging remarks if they take minimum leaves.

    Or you can also form strict rules for people who take leave often like deduction from their salaries or giving them more work when they come back so that they dont take unnecessary leaves from thereon.

    You should not impose such conditions on those who you think are in the right and are taking leaves for genuine reasons.

    Hello,
    You have to take some actions in this situation.
    - Don't keep employees under pressure by making them work for 10 to 12 hours everyday.
    - Provide little hike in their salary so that they will be happy and obey what you will say.
    - Arrange some programs like dance, music etc once or twice in month so that employees will be eagerer to come to office.

    Hi Friend,
    People are taking leaves frequently it might be due to too much pressure in work, odd timings due which they are falling sick or may be due to lenient policy.
    If it is due to pressure in work or odd timing you need to speak to team leads or manager and revise the work timings and can have a plan to sort out the work pressure issue by giving comp off if they have worked late or over time (overtime payment might attract or motivate employees).

    If people are taking leaves due to lenient policy then you need to have a better Leave Management System and level of approvals in place, so that if is not properly approved it can result in loss of pay.

    If you follow the above mentioned things i hope this issue will be sorted out for sure.
