    Hello Aspirant,

Yes,the employer introduces the dress code for employees in order to give a unique identification among the public. But it should be in norms of Indian culture. The dresses suit according to the environment.

So what you are thinking is right. In order to make changes in the dress code, represent the matter jointly to the manager HR/employer stating that using western dress make our look ugly,so we want to have dress code as per our Indian society such as salwar suit or give any other dress choice.

Also mention in your letter that ''we can use the western dress when we happen to be in foreign country.

The majority wins the race.If your demand is in majority your demand may be full filled otherwise it may not be possible. If it is not considered, you can have company dress in the company cupboard & you can change it in your dress room of company/office.This way you can come & go to your residence/home in Indian dress & while working you can use the company dress, because it is a matter of employment.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Multi-national companies always follow the western style-starting from their dress, work system, discipline ,everything.Since you have been working in a multi national company, you and all of your female colleagues have been asked to adopt the western dress code in office. But many of you are not comfortable with this decision. So you have to speak up before the management that you are not ok with the decision. You have to convince your other colleagues so that they give you full support when you speak up on behalf of them.Any one from the female team may also take the leadership in this case. The prime focus should be on making it very clear to the higher authority that you all are not happy with the decision, and want to continue with Indian dresses as you all have been continuing. There is no point in shouting or making a chaos, but the message od dissatisfaction must be made clear to the management.

This is a one of the very common issue in India. Dress code has become a great problem for India especially in the areas which are not yet developed completely.Even in the metropolitan cities sometimes this is seen.Various foreign companies come to business in our country and therefore they follow all the rules and regulations as laid down by their headquarters which is located in foreign countries and they abide by the rules that is existing there. As a consequence, this problem of dress code has been aroused so many times in India.

Since you all are not comfortable with the dress code of western culture so you all should definitely speak about this to the higher authority as soon as possible and sort out this matter completely. If it is not resolved in the earlier stages,it can be a hindrance in the future, thereby affecting the performance of you all and as a result the professional career of you all will receive a setback.

-You all should first sit together and discuss about this matter.
-Chalk out all the important points that needs to be highlighted before the higher authority.
-Go for a meeting with the higher authority.
-Tell them about the problems that you all are facing because of this decision.
-Explain how it is affecting your performance and work.
-Explain its negative effects on the personal life as well.
-Request them to look into this matter as soon as possible.
-Request them to take a step in the interest of you all for ensuring proper working and functioning of the company.

    Hi aspirant

If you and some of the other female employees are against this implementation of the western dress code in your office then you should definitely raise your voice in this matter and not just sit quietly. The best way for you to be heard will be to go and speak directly to the higher authorities. They will certainly listen to you and if they are impressed by your reasoning, they may even withdraw this rule in your favour.

You should tell them that you alll are not comfortable with the western dress code implemented by the company as you belong to conservative families and thus not feel comfortable wearing such western and modern dresses. You hope that they will take your sentiments into account and hence excuse you from following this rule or still better withdraw this rule. You hope that they will help you out in this matter as you have high expectations from them.

I hope that they solve your problem. Good luck
