    How to handle a cry baby in office?

    As a manager I encourage an equal opportunity environment in my team. They can come to me if they have any problems. However one of the team members is a cry baby. He cries when you appreciate him, he cries when you say a good word, he cries when somebody has a baby. He is over emotional. How do I tell him that this kind of office behavior is not healthy?

    Hi..Different people have different nature and that comes naturally to them so you cant do much about this especially at this stage when they are grown ups..These things can certainly be changed during the developing years of a person but now its difficult to change such kind of attributes in a person..Thus some people are over-emotional while there may be some who dont display emotions at all..

    Ya i can certainly understand your concern that such behaviour is not good for your profession and thus you should try to control it as much as you can if not completely eliminate it..Thus you dont have to be afraid of anything and tell him directly what is in your mind..As a manager it is your responsibility to point out the drawbacks in your team members and tell them to overcome them ..This is for the benefit of your team members only for them to have a healthy professional life..

    So you call that member to your office and tell him that you want to talk to him about an important matter..Tell him not to be nervous and to be at ease..Tell him that he needs to control his over-emotional nature as that is harmful for his professional life and maybe a hindrance in hiss future growth..Tell him the drawbacks of it like making a bad impression on seniors, affecting his personality etc and tell him to control it as much as possible..Tell him that thuis will surely benefit him in future and thus he will have a great future ahead..I am sure he will listen to you.

    Hi there,
    In order to solve your problem just do the following:
    *Tell the person not to be over-emotional.
    *If it happens again talk to him and ask him why it happens to him,Talk to him very politely.
    *Final option is to FIRE him as if he`ll continue like this,It will definetly affect the co-workers leading to less output by them.

    simply tell the person about the situation and his behaviour is not good for people around him n foe him too. try to convince him for his behaviour. if he doesn't gets on the right track take some strict actions like start with horrifying dialouges just of " i will fire you" etc

    hello asker it is your responsibility to point out the things in your team members and tell them to be petiencly themselves.Because it will be the benefit of your team members only for them to have a healthy professional environment in office.So you call concerned member to your office and tell him/her that is advisable.An emotionally person should not be treated so rude by the employers or team membership.You should give the directions for regulating to proper behavior in official places.thanks
