    How to get rid of an employee who has an excuse for everything?

    When we hired the employee he seemed to be a very good candidate but after 6 months with the company he has become the thorn to everybody’s side and drums up excuses for his neglected work at the drop of his hat. What is the best way to get rid of him?

    Hi buddy

    I think everyone deserves another chance and the same goes for this employee too. Firstly you call this employee to your office and tell him that you have noticed that his performance has been way below the mark since he joined the company and that he has been showing no signs of improvement. He has the habit of making excuses for everything but what you want are results. So instead of making excuses he should concentrate more on his work and thus improve his performance. This will be his last warning and if he doesnt mend himself he may even end up losing his job.

    I am sure that this speech of yours will make your employee think about his behaviour and he will certainly try his best to improve his performance for the fear of losing his job. Thus he will surely turn over a new leaf in afew days and your problem will be solved.

    But in case he doesnt improve you can punish him as you want and even terminate his services as you have warned him before. If he wants to learn it the hard way then its his choice.

    such type of candidate can never proved to be a milestone for the company who try to give first impact impression and then after shows their original colurs.
    so, you should escape from hireing such candidate.

    but if you already hired as stated above than don't worry. there are steps to get over such employees.

    call him and personally and ask him about the problem that why he is showing these activities to the company.
    also ask him is there any personal problem due to which he is not able to concentrate in the office work and if the work is not getting completed by him than why do he make such a cheap excuse.
    because making an excuse reveals his bad impression on the HR and the BOSS.
    so ask him to tell his problem clearly and frankly if any.
    otherwise try to concentrate on the work else there are too many peoples in the line for the position acquired by him.

    he will surely understand what you want to say.
    and i am sure that there will be change in him from the next day.

    Dear Friend!

    Company do have rights to take any kind of actions against such kind of employee, and you can take action immediately. First give him warning to not create such kind of issues in company circle , if he don't overcome his Hooliganism. You can terminate him without giving any warning later and compensation. Because any company have don't require this kind of employee's attitude, otherwise it is harmful for company business and spoil company's environment.

    Hi..............,

    What can be done is------------>
    * Provide a warning letter to that employee.
    * Must warn him 2-3 times immediately after mistake.
    * If needed you can terminate him from company.
    * You can make him liable for under estimating guidelines.
    * Stop his working if he is irritating you all.

    Your employee might be facing some sort of problem.Try to see it.In order to get him improved,issue a memo asking the explanation for the causes being made by the concerned employee.Seeing the reply,you can issue some gudlines in writing to follow the same by the concerned employee.If he follows,it is well & good otherwise issue a warnig letter stating that you are not performing your duty well & you are hereby warned that if you continue your carelessness & ignorance towards your duties,you may be terminated from your service.

    Hope there will be a positive attitute in his side.If you don't see any improvement,you can terminate him following the terms & conditions of the appointment.

    There are some employees that do such things.
    The only way to handle such employees i to warn them.
    Tell him that he's being paid to do work and not for giving excuses.
    Also warn him that if he repeats the same thing and does not change his attitude,then he'll be fire from the job.
    Then just observe his attitude and behaviour.
    See if he has learnt from his mistakes.
    If he again repeats the same things,then you should fire him from the job.

    As you mentioned that he is good candidate, then you must give him a last chance to Improve because may be he will back in right track. You should call and make him understand to concentrate on his work and stop neglecting it otherwise serious action may be taken. If you see a positive results after that warning and conversation, then it's good for the company. Or if you continues his negligence, issue a notice asking him to provide a genuine reason before terminating him. Termination is the only last way through which you can rid of him otherwise his behaviour may affect other employee.
