    How to deal with an employee who always asks for hike?

    I am working as a Manager in one of the top MNC companies but still there are lot of things which I need to learn and build myself. One big problem which I am facing now is with one of the employee who goes on asking for hike? What should I do to tackle him? Can you please give me your good suggestions to overcome this problem?

    You should first of all analyze his performance of the past few months.
    If he hasn't performed upto the mark,then you should call him and show him his performance.
    Ask him what for is he asking for the salary hike.
    When he hasn't been doing his work properly,then how can he expect to get an increment.
    Advice him to concentrate on his work rather than demanding for salary hike.
    Make him understand that the chances of getting a hike is only possible only if he performs well at the work and do his duty!

    1) As a manager its your responsibility to take care of your employee's problems.
    2) Tell that employee that he will surely get an increment if he works hard and shows good results.
    3) He should not keep on asking for the hike unnecessarily and rather concentrate on his work.
    4) Tell him to be consistent in his performance and he will surely be rewarded.
    5) Tell him not to bother you again.

    Call the employee in a meeting room and try to explain the policy of the company with regards to salary hike.

    Since you are working in an MNC, salary hike must be done either on an annual basis in the appraisals or even half yearly.
    You need to make this point clear to him, that Salary hike if any to be given is based on performance and can only be done at the time of appraisals.
    Also salary hike depends on the Company Management decisions to hike salaries of employees.
    So, he should just concentrate on work and try to give his best.

    Such employees should not be entertained who are only interested in getting saklary hikes and are not concerned with their work. I think if that employee is a good performer then he certainly deserves a salary hike if he has already not got it. But if he is not a good performer and still forcing you to give him salary hike, then you should definitely tell him straight to his face that he does not deserve it and should come back th enext time only when he improves markedly in his performance.

    Also if you want to help him, you should tell him his shortcomings and then also tell him to improve upon the same. Then the next time you will yourself give him a hike if he deserves it and he neeed not take unnecessary pains to come to you for the same. I am sure he will understand your point and thus will never behave in such a way as now. I hope he learns his lesson and shows some marked improvement in his performance which will also be better for his future . If you can make his future brighter , then you are definitely a very good nad deserving manager.

    First of all it is always not essential to give importance to everything point an employee has to say.As a senor manager you have to use your discresionary power to judge which thing has to be given more importance and which not.This rule has to applied in this case also.If he kees on pleading for salary hike,you need not answer him everytime.N certain cases tell him that you will refer this issue to your higher autyhorities and the entire decision regarding any hike will be decided by them only.Mention that you can only suggest his name,but rest of the decisions will be taken by them only.

    Hike is based on many conditions fulfilled by employee over a span of time say in a six months period or yearly. So, employee can't ask for hike beyond the specified periods and if he does he must not be entertained as this is not a good practice. Better take a personal of worker who is asking for hike and try to know his issues/reason on which he is requesting for hike. If the reasons are good enough to be considered then go for it, otherwise let him know that company will make hike in salary according to the procedures/rules laid by the HR department.

    -First look into the service record of the employee.
    -If it is not upto the mark,make the employee realize where he has to improve to get hike in salary.

    -Ask him to be patient and wait for the decision of the higher authority.

    Hey friend, the employee who always ask about hiking then he got some experience in their field.So most of the employees unnecessarily don't ask about hiking.So you have to convenience such employees for their promotion.Whey you won't response they will quit their job and they new job with experience. The salary negotiations should be considered during that time.Try to handle all their problems regarding company deals with them and also motivate that employees for higher postings.

    you tell them to prove your self first in their work then only you will find solution for your problem.. give your employees a fixed set of targets and tell them to finish the targets in a particular time period then you can reduce your problem by half,some may complete your targets give then a little hike and encourage them.
