How to convey boss to change my working shift?

I am working in a small private company mainly under its BPO section. I have been appointed duty in the night shift. But I want to work in the day shift. How should I convey my boss regarding my request to change my working shift from night to the daytime?

    Hello,

This is a very common problem now a days. You should write an application to your boss
stating your problem in night shift. You should not forget to mention the reason behind it
for shifting your working shift. BPO environment is 24/7 that means 24 hours and 7 days
so you have to adjust to the situation. But if you habe any difficulaty you can always seek help
    from your superiors.

    Bye,

    Dear friend,

First of all be flexible to work in any time if you are working in a private firm.
In case you have any serious issue, please convey your problem you are facing to work in the night shift.
Also you can ask him toh work partially in night shift and partially in dat shift. Be polite in your request
and ensure that you put up your problem considering that it should not effect the work

    Thanks

    Hello Aspirant,

As per act,the female employee should not be given for night shift duty. You can hardly get morning, evening & day shift duty.

In this connection your thought to get your duty changed is correct. It is always good to be in safe side. You can request your boss stating the family problems & point of safety to attend the night duty.If your boss agrees to do so,it is well & good otherwise you can contact the factory inspector/labour inspector in your region & discuss the issue. You will be directed well to solve your problem at the earliest.

    Good luck.

Re: How to convey boss to change my working shift?

It is one of the common problems among most of the employees regarding their working shifts. Most of the employees seem to be unhappy with their working shifts especially the night working shifts. However few gather courage and make up to their boss to request to change it while the rest get adjusted to it and keep on working even though it is against their wishes but they have to do it to save their job and get the adequate salary.

Your problem is understandable and the change of working shift is also justiciable provided you have a genuine and unavoidable reason for it.Other wise it is quite tough to get a change in the working shift. This is because the employees are allotted the working shifts keeping in mind various criteria like the need of them at those hours, vacancy, etc. So just a mere desire of changing the shift will not enable the higher authority to take the decision in your favour.

-Go for a discussion with your boss.

-Tell the problems you are facing in the working shift allotted to you.

-Explain the problems you are facing because of the night shift.

-Express your desire to work in other shift.

-Give suitable and genuine reasons for it.

-Request to consider your matter and allow you for other shift.

-Assure your boss of your good service.

    Dear Friend,

Talk to to your boss when you did a good job and your boss is in good mood. Be prepared to answer counter questions because your boss will surely ask you for valid reasons to being switched. Think about your reasons for being switched from night shift to day shift. Don't give reasons that can be applicable to your colleagues also. Tell something like some sickness such as diabetes which aggravates by working at night. This is just one example, you can choose from various other valid reasons.

I hope your boss will understand your problem and do something for you. If the strategy doesn't work and you are not comfortable working at night, think about switching your job.

    Best of luck!!!
