How can someone claim for regular pension if not working?

My maternal uncle is poor from health so he doesn’t work anymore and sitting idle at home. He was the major income source in his home. Please tell me the procedure in which he can claim in government offices for a fixed pension every month if he is not been an employee in government sector though.

    Hello Aspirant,

It is a news of sorrow to know that your maternal uncle is not well enough to work in the govt.office.You must know that the govt.recruits its employees in order to work for the people as well as for the department also. The services of the employees are governed by the employees service codes. Also the govt.has made provision to utilize different kinds of leave by the employees such as casual leave,Earn leave, medical leave, leave without pay etc.

So your maternal uncle can take either earn leave or medical leave for a long period to get him the required treatment. If he applies for leave & get it sanctioned,he would be entitle for pay otherwise he will be treated absent for which it would be difficult to get him leave sanctioned & pay for the period.

Pension is sanctioned for a retired employee. It is also applicable when the concerned employee dies during or after the service period. If the employee dies during service, the legal heir of the employee is eligible for service on the compensation basis. Also family pension is gurranted to the legal heir in both the cases i.e death during the job or death afterwords. But service on compensation is only when the employee dies during the service.

So since your maternal uncle is alive now,he is not eligible to get pension.he should get treatment well & should take nutritious food to get energy so that he can join the duty to get his pay.

    Good luck.

Dear aspirant you have written here your uncle is poor and ill health .He was the major income source in his home. Now you like to know the procedure in which he claim in Govt.Offices for a fixed pension every month.

What you proposed here is it possible? First of all you are to increase your knowledge about the pension

payment procedure. It is known to all a Govt.employee or pvt employee get's pension as per rules and it

depend on service length and internal procedures.Your uncle is not the Govt.employee then how he will

claim for Govt.pension? According to present rule most of the Govt.offices pays' minimum pension if the

employee conplete's at least 10 years of permanent service. And pension is countable on the length of

service. Here your uncle is not an Govt.employee and did not serve for a single day then how pension to be

calculated. If your uncle was a pvt employee then you can see if there is any opportunity lies for him to his

own pvt. office. If your uncle was not an employee and remain below poverty line and have BPL card. Then it

is possible for old age pension paid by the central Govt. as well as state govt.

    Thank You,
