How can I get maternity leave as I am working in a private sector?

I am working in a private company since last four years. Now I want to have maternity leave for three months. But the management is saying that there is no procedure of maternity leave. I have to go without pay during this period. There is no clause in the contract like this. Can I take any legal action?

You have to go for complany rules first of all.
and take the matter to higher authority
    like HR, administration, high management.

If they do not agree, then you can talk to a lawyer or
    a legal consultancy firm.

Dont take a hurry action, take time and then decide to proceed further.

    Dear..

Maternity is compulsory for every organization and it does not matter whether you are working for Government, semi government or private organization. The only thing that you have to see is that maternity leave is different for every company, Just check with the guidelines of your company and after that go and apply for the leave.

If nothing happens then you have to talk to your Manager and after that too the HR. If still nothing happens then its better to take the help of a lawyer.

    All the best

    Hi ,
Maternity policy is there in every company but varies from one to another .

For taking leave you may need to show a maternity certificate to your immediate manager or HR and take required leave.

Your manager ask for all the medical certificates and medical bills for the same after the return . So be prepared .
