How to assert authority when officiating?

When my boss goes out of office he leaves me in charge of some working in the office. But I find that when the boss is away people become a little lax and donít listen to me much. How do I assert my authority when officiating as a boss?

    Hi aspirant

I think that you should definitely try to take up your responsibility and should not let your boss down who has given you this duty with faith. You should definitely not let the employees take undue advantage of your leniency and should be very strict with them. You should certainly assert your authority in an effective manner as the boss and should see to it that all the employees obey your orders like they obeyed their previous boss.

You should make an official announcement when all the employees are gathered together. Tell them that you have been noticing that since the time you have been made the officiating head, they have become lax and don't listen to you much with only a few exceptions. You want them to know that you are going to be very strict with them in this regard and will not withstand any kind of nuisance from them. They should make it a point to follow all the policies of the company and maintain proper decorum at the workplace otherwise the miscreants will definitely be punished.

I am sure they will never dare to offend you after this and then you will have no problem with them. Good luck

    Hi,

It is not that you should be in the commander post while your boss is not there...

You should drive in such a way that there should not arise any day to day issue and all the work should be smooth in such a way when your boss is there with all of you...

He should not feel that this work is incomplete due to my absence...
You sould run the office in such a way that your boss is getting confident on you in future.

    Good luck.
