    How to ask my manager for salary increment?

    I am an employee in a small private firm. I have been here for the past 5 years. I am a hard working employee and have also been appreciated for my performance frequently. But the problem is I havenít got a salary hike till now. I am afraid to ask my manager for the same. How should I talk to my manager regarding the salary hike?

    If the employer is a man of genuine surely give you due respect to your application,you have joined 5 years ago and till today there is no hike, again you are getting appreciation about your performance from the employer.Under this situation employer should increase your salary willingly,it is not necessary to demand for increase,any way if the employer is not ready and show unwillingness to increase your salary, as a prestige matter you should seek other company to join as you are confident and you will get new job as per your demand.

    If you think you deserve a salary increment but haven't received the same for quite sometime now then you should certainly talk to your manager in this regard. You should certainly not be afraid or hesitate to talk to your manager. You should know that growth is certainly very important in any job and if you dont get it in your company, then its better if you find another good job where there is ample growth. So its better that you talk to your manager and persuade him to give you salary increment.

    You should go and tell your manager that you are a good employee of the company and have appreciated for your performance frequently. Also mention your achievements to the manager.     You has been working with a small company for 5 years and you didn't get your hike salary so far. Its really a harassing issues for you. You should had talked your company's HR or manager regarding this very long time ago but you had not. Please don't delay and hesitate to talk your company's HR or manger for hike salary because you has been working for company for 5 years, I hope company definitely will consider on this topic and get reply to you. If company answer is NO. Then company is really sucking their employee's, I would suggest to change your job.

    You need to collate all the appreciation letter you got, plus your performance sheet.

    But you ahve not got any salary hike during this period.
