    Grading gets biased, underperformer gets highest

    Our multinational bank’s human resource department use behaviorally anchored rating scales(BARS) system which is a kind of grading system. One of the poor performing managers has received the highest grades. Please suggest what I should do.

    well this really unfair decision. you must talk to the management about this . ask them :
    -->reason for these biased ratings
    -->reasons for how come the low performer got the highest ratings
    these unethical practice should be banned for sure. you all employees and employers should take a impactful reaction on this act. tell them that you would not prevail such practices. you all work so hard whole time to get good marks and then suddenly a low performer gets a good marks. you people working hard so much are not fool. so you must take an action for this .

    These kind of tactics are generally used by the companies to create a healthy competition between the employees and to encourage them to work more efficiently. This is done for the sole purpose of increasing the output of the company and to gain more and more from their employess. So you should not take them as seriously and may be the employee you are talking about, have worked better this time or just to encourage him to do better he has been assigned high grades. What you can do in this matter is to work hard so as to acquire a higher grade. Concentrate more on your work and focus sharply on your own performance.

    I think this is the unfair decision

    Hi,

    Employees are not the right person to judge the ability of a person...Am not saying that what looks in front of the employees are always wrong....
    But what management is geeting from employees can be decide only by management...
    It might also be correct that what ever you are seeing into that employee is not full and there are a lot of hidden quality due to which he get the promotion...

    Hence request you never compare others job and promotion...it will impact your result only....
    Never ever compare others with you...rather than do the right job and always maintain good relations with all employees including your boss.
