Is it good to tell about the job interview to my current Manager?

I need to get a permission for one day to attend the interview which I have got a appointment by tomorrow. So will it be OK to tell that to my current Manager and get the permission for the day? or what can I do? Please provide me your suggestions for the same? Have anyone have experience in this? Please help with your valuable advice.

    Hi buddy

I dont think you should tell your current manager about your job interview as he will certainly take it in a negative way and God forbid if you dont get the new job then you may face trouble in this job too . Your manager will certainly take it in a bad way that you are going to leave their company and thus will surely create trouble for you in the future. But if you have already applied for resignation and are currently serving your notice period then you can surely tell him.

But if you havent yet applied for resignation, then its better you give some other reason for taking the leave. You may produce a medical certificate and thus take medical leave or you can take a casual leave. Surely inform your manager and give him any reason. I am sure this will be much better for the same. You can also say you have some urgent work and thus need to take leave for a day.

Hopefully this helps you. Good luck

    hello guest !!

it is nice to hear from you that you are selected for an appointment.
but please do not tell about this to your current manager, because it will have bad imapct of yours on your manager.
he will be thinking that you are not completely devoted to his company, and it can leads to bad outcome in future if you wall remain in this particular copmpany.

so ask him for leave making some excuse other than interview.ok??

hope you are understanding why i am saying this.

    Tahnks for posting in EALP.
