    Is it good to have argument with the manager for salary hike?

    I had been working with the company for 2 years. My salary is same as it was on the day of joining. No increment has been. My performance and i am getting incentives. But my salary was not increase and it was promised that hike will be done once in a year. Since I did not receive any hike I spoke to my Manager, and he informed me that because of my performance issue it has not increased. I had big argument with my manager. Now I am afraid that it will affect my feedback. Can anybody help me in this case?

    My dear friend it is never good to do argument with your manager for your salary hiking.Because you know your boss is sound regarding official rules related salary hiking.As a private company you always try to do everything as per his instructions.Be puntual in all respects as far as possible to please your Boss then you see he will try his best to do something for you.

    But you haven't got for 2 years . It's absolutely company mistake

    Nothing wrong in arguing with manager

    Just take this issue to your HR and speak to him regarding this issue

    If your HR promise you that you will get hike in coming month salary accept it

    Else take this to higher officials and ask for resolution

    Surely at this stage problem would be resolved

    Talk to your HR or Senior officials in polite manner

    Be cool . Don't get tempered

    Its really bad knowing that you are performing and still not getting any salary hike. I dont think arguing with the manager will do any good to your ratings.

    This should be avoided at any cost. Before performance what the company wants is how to manage your temper your frustrations, how to cope of with these kind of situations.

    So do go and apologize first to your manager. Say that you made a mistake and talk politely when he is in a good mood about why you havent got a hike till now.

    What is your performance according to him and if he still thinks its not that much then ask him what you need to do to step up your performance.

    And since have quite a bit of experience so you can start searching for a new job and believe me you will get a good package based on your experience.

    Dont be rude with your seniors no matter how rude they behave you will always have to be polite else you wont get anything.

    Hi guest, There is nothing wrong in arguing, if you think you had not made any kind of mistake. But the arguement must be made politely and only when your manager is in good mood. If they have a promised you to hike the salary once a year then they must do the same. If not, they must provide the genuine reason for the same. Two years is very long period, you must ask your manager why your salary hasn't be hiked yet. If it's because of your performance then you need to improve your performance according to manager's directions. Thanx

    Dear you are in professional field you can ask and you can argument but within a discipline. you can ask regarding hike salary because they told you in starting..if they do not..then you have 2 years experience you can try in other company there is lots of opportunity but before getting job in other company dont leave this company..if you want to stay same company make extra effort and impress to your team leader or manager they will sure hike and regarding this argument they will not do any bad feedback do not worry about this

    HELLO,
    1) In my view you haven't done any mistake arguing with your manager as they promised you that they will increment your salary once in a year and you still don't get.
    2)Take this issue to HR of your company surely he will do something to your salary hike and the problem gets rectified very soon.
    3)It will not affect your feedback at all because you haven't done any mistake at all.Mistake is done by the company so don't worry.
    4)Lastly control your temper its not good always be polite.

    hi friend,

    i feel sorry that you haven't got hike in your salary since last 2years.

    Most of the companies do hike their employees salaries every year. But it mainly depends on the performance of the employee.

    Arguing with the manager is some what not good i think so because most of the software companies are arge to the recession.

    As you have said that you have been working in the company for past two years, make use of that experience and search for the new job in other companies.

    I hope there you may find a new job with good salary and good working environment too.

    As most of the employees who have got experience when getting into the new companies can hike their salary about 10% to their previous salary.

    So i suggest you not to get involved in an agrument with the higher officials as you may have an effect on your career.

    As you are the one who is getting benefited when your salary is going to be increased so ask him in a polite way which may work out.

    it is not good to have argument with the manager for salary hike..you can get increment in salary once in 2 years or 1 year...since you had been working in this company just for 2 year,you cant make any argument with manager concerned with your salary hike..you can make a request letter to him regarding your salary hike.

    Hi i think you certainly shouldnt have argued with your manager as it will surely leave a negative feedback. But as you think your performance was good but your manager thought otherwise so its better you leave this job and such for a new one where your work will be appreciated and you will have more chances of growth.

    Try to find a job suiting your calibre as this job is certainly not helping you in your growth.

    Arguing with supervisors or manager or boss in the company can put negative feedback on your career growth. Salary hike depends on company rules and KRA (key responsibilities area) and it is based on overall performance and punctuality during that particular time or year. Only on the basis of performance and incentives achievement, you can't force them to hike your salary. Just check over all policy of the company and talk to the management on polite way.

    It is not good to arguing with higher authority.

    Ask him with polite manner or keep any letter in written form.Even if manager won't respond then ask directly to manager regarding the salary matter.

    ---> First put the letter in written form.if not respond do the below thing.

    ---> Put the email or.

    ---> If not respond contact the manager directly face to face matter.


    Even not respond it would be better to join in another company.

    You can argue ,but you also should follow the some instruction for that.
    Each wants that their salary should more and more.


    First,you should realize your position and post in the company and should know the range of salary in your region for that postion.if you found it's too much less ,then and then you should take this step.and generally ,for a same position salary range vary by company by company.
    If for same post and in same company,if you get less salary that others , you can surely argue for that about salary.
    If other company offer you more salary with maximum benefit,then you can request for rise your salary in your company.
    In your company,employee not get sufficient salary according to work,then you can request about salary.
    And still company not agree and you have capability to do work and earn ,then you should give resign simply from that company.

    Arguing on your hike with you manager is not wrong. Its obvious and he would also have know that if somebody will not get hike for continuous 2 years, then he will get frustrated. But if that argument will get convert in fighting then it would become harmful for you.So in one to one with your manager, you can ask that where I am lacking. What should I do, so I get an increment in my salary. I am literally got frustrated. I always work hard, could you please let me know how can I proof myself. If your manager will let you know about it then you can work on those points and perform well.

    Also as you have 2 years of experience, and if with that you have a good knowledge of your technology also, then you can crack any interview and can take a job with good salary.

    Hi..I know it is very frustrating if you dont get a salary hike or any incentive inspite of your continued hard work and good results..

    But i think you should not have argued with your manager as it will only make matters worse as it have a bad impression on him of you..You should have tried to solve the matter in a polite way ..

    I know you would have tried speaking politely first but later you couldnt tolerate it but still if you want to retain this job you shouldnt have argued..

    hello dearit is not good decision to talk directly manager over the selary increasing issue.you should do hard work in office or company and try to work withen time.once you do your work properly then your hr or manager be understand your capacity and working power.after this any manager or hr management become positive to increase the selary with bonuses also.you can talk directly when you are not getting positive response from company 'authority after a long time working.all theb best

    first remember one thing in life that boss is always right... Be cool if you feel that your performance is good maintain that performance and please him very more better work show them results.. And ask manager why he is not give payment hike then your question is justified and legal ... And still there is no change look for more opportunities in market because you have experience with you

    Dear it is really not acceptable for any hardworking employee in the office because when you were promised for salary hike once in a year then the company must provide you the increment in the salary but still you are not getting any more than your previous salary and it is really against the rules of the company but if you have the conditions in the written then you may take an action against your company but if not then you are really helpless but you should not worry and if the manager says that there is a issue in my performance then this thing is not accurate because if you has performed less in the company then why you would have getting incentives from the company so that you should ask for the salary hike from your manager respectively and also ask them that if there is any issue in my work then please inform me and tell me what is not good in my work, and if there is any issue then i would try to refine myself better than before

    It is evident from what you have mentioned that there is a growing dissatisfaction in you because of the lack of increment in your salary. I can understand that this is unavoidable. At the same time you need to get a control of your anger at your work place. Arguing with your manager is never advisable especially on situations like salary hike. The company reserves the right to increase the salary of any employee. All that it depends on is your performance.

    So the best thing to do is always be very efficient in your work and at the same time if you feel that you are not getting an increment that you deserve then should talk to your manager very politely and sharing your point of vie regarding the same. You can produce your appraisals and the feedbacks that you get throughout the year to testify the fact that you deserve an increment.

    But at the moment what is done cannot be undone. So you should once again go and talk to your manager and tell him that the you felt that the efforts that you have put in deserve an increment and that is the reason that you vented your anger. I am sure that if you apologize to your maanger then he would definitely understand your plight. You can also seek his help to improve yourself. All the best!

    If your work is punctual then definitly you will get hike in your salary.Your salary is same as of joining 2 years later.This is not good thing.You should do argument for salary hike with manager.As you have done it and manager said that your work has not increased.So you have to do some more work to get a hike.If after that no increment then leave the job and opt other job.Why should you waste your time in this costly era.

    you should have patience for good things to happen in your career.its not good that you have argument with your m​anger over the hike in salary. you should always respect boss and his rules,as you know that you will have performance appraisal in your company at the end of each financial year,where you work is under scrutiny and your performance is analyzed by company management... when you have confidence in your work and hard work then why do you need to have issues with manager,hard work always pays,if your salary is not hiked right now ask manager what you should do to improve your performance and take his suggestion rather you have a fight with him and spoiling your image and having bad impression on you...
    now the first thing to do is that you should do is seriously regret your actions and apologize to your manager and tell him that your sorry and ask his forgiveness this will help you out and know what really is the reason for your denial of increment of your salary... then you should work and show him the results and i am sure that you will not be denied any increment... always performance should speak about your self,, all the best don't lose your concentration on your work..

    There is nothing wrong in this.

    But don't do this by directly going to Manager infront of all the people.

    Discuss in the appraisal discussion.

    If you did not get good rating, you can discuss the manager.

    You can argue with the manager.

    You can ask him to provide the parameters on which you were given low rating.

    You should not be compromised at all if they don't pay you good.
