. Given option of working at home in lieu of full maternity leave

I am almost 9 months pregnant and have applied for maternity leave in my office. I am authorised 12 weeks of maternity leave. however the company has given me the offer of working from home if I only take 6 weeks of maternity leave. Is it a good choice for me to make?

    Hi friend

Working from home would certainly be much more comfortable for you than going to your workplace and working there. Also firstly you should check on some points before taking the decision. Firstly check for how much duration they are providing you this offer of working from home. If the duration is long then it will certainly be beneficial for you. Also you can take proper care of your child if you work from home. You wont have to leave your baby at home while you go for work. This will increase your bonding with him and thus help in the proper growth and development of the baby.

Next you should check whether you are getting the same salary or not. If you are getting the same salary as you get now, then you should certainly take up this job of working from home. Also see to it that you recover fully and achieve an optimum level of health before resuming your work. Recuperation is very important after delivery for you to lead a healthy and good life. Keeping these things in mind I think you should definitely take up this job as it will certainly suit you well.

I hope you take the right decision. Good luck friend
