To which extent we can react physically if someone mentally harassing an employee?

One of our co-employees is always looking forward to harass every one by any means. Usually everyone ignores but there is a certain level of doing this too. I wanted to ask that if these irritative things happen again and again and up to the bearing extent then can we take some physical action which will not be penalised by anyone?

    Hi friend

I dont think you should act physically with the employee who is being of such a nuisance to you no much how much badly he is behaving with you. It is one thing to mentally harass someone and other to act physically. If you act physically he may file a case against you. You should firstly talk to him directly along with other employees who have been a victim of his harassment. Tell him straight to his face that they are fed up of his ways and behaviour with his colleagues and want him to stop harassing each and everyone whenever he gets the chance. If he doesnt mend his ways they are going to complaint against him to the higher authorities and then he may be in the danger of losing his job.

Threaten him in this way and tell him that it is for his betterment only if he mends his ways and improves by himself so that they dont get a chance to complaint against him. Also he should follow a certain decorum and ethics while being one of the employees of a company or at his workplace. I am sure he will listen to you and never repeat such things again.

    Good luck

    Hi

You will come across such people every where in school , college , office , family functions, etc.
But you cannot take physical action towards these people who are just irritating.
They are like this because it is their nature and they may not even know about it.
Many a times they might unintentionally irritate you , while they were just being good to you.

If he harassing you in a more rude and bad way then you must complain about him to your boss.
Your boss will surely take some strict action towards him.

You can directly tell him to behave with every one and not to harass any body.
Tell him that in office or professional world one needs to be friendly with his colleagues.
If he keeps harassing every one, he will be disliked by his colleagues.
And during the times of need or help , there will be no one to help him.

Until he improves and starts behaving good to every one , you all should keep ignoring him.
Do not talk to him or even look at him.
Do not encourage him in any matter to think that you like him.
    Hope this helps you out.
    Good luck
