Employer not allowing me to take up a part time job

I am working in a private firm . My income is very less so I am thinking of taking up a part time job in the future. I have also started searching for the same. But when I asked my employer about the same, he told that this will distract me from my office work and thus he is not allowing me to take up any part time job. What should I do now? I really need the money.

Re: Employer not allowing me to take up a part time job

    Hi friend

Your employer would definitely think only of his company while looking at this situation but if he sees it from your point of view then he will definitely allow you to take up a part time job as well along with your regular job. You should not listen to your boss in this matter because if you will be able to handle both the jobs simultaneously without deterioration in your performance in your present job, then I am sure your boss will have no problem at all.

So friend you should not get discouraged by your boss's disapproval of this but should continue your search for the part time job. Its good to see that you have the passion to earn more to meet your financial requirements. this passion is seen in very individuals and I am happy to see it in you. So be careful and don't let your performance fall in your present company and then I am sure everything will be alright.

So friend don't worry and do as you want . But just try to maintain a good balance between the two. Good luck

    Hello friend,

When you join a company, you sign a contract that you will not involve in any other company. In case you have signed it, you are legaly not allowed to take up any other job.. part time or full time. In case you have not signed so, you can definitely go for another job but yes you must ensure that it should not effect your present job.

Moreover, In case you want to make another source of income, you can start home tutions.
    thanks and regards

Re: Employer not allowing me to take up a part time job

    Hi friend,

Why did you inform your employer about your part time work.?

Because if you are thinking of taking the part time job after the company working hours then you need not tell your employer about that.

But if you want to put some interruption to the job that you are in now and want to concentrate on the part time job then you can tell the employer about that.

BUt if you are willing to work after the company working hours then there is no need to tell your employer about that.

But for this you need to concentrate on both the things, which would be a bit difficult but it would be fine my friend, as you are in need of money.

You need to concentrate on both because giving more concentration on one job would be a threat to other job.

    So do think of it.

Hope i have helped you in getting relevant informaiton.

    All the best

    thanking you...

    Dear Aspirant,

It is possible to do part time job provided your present job should not be affected. When your employer is not allowing you to join the part time job,you have another options to search for another job as per your qualifications & experience. In order to search another job,you may resister your resume to www.naukri.com & www.monsterindia.com.Also you should refer the employment news paper & local news papers regularly for advertisements.

If you have time in present job,you can start tuition at your home. Also you are responsible to work for 8 hrs. daily in the present company. But in pvt.company if you try to go alone legally, you may be sacked. So it is better to search another good job with high pay.

    Thanks & good luck.

Re: Employer not allowing me to take up a part time job

    Hello Friend,
Definitely no employer will allow you to take up any part time job while you are working with that firm in a full time job.because they know that if they allow you then all other will ask the same privilege which they cant provide.and the same thing will affect your performance in this company and eventually you find that job is more suitable than the current one then you will leave this one and join the other one.so the employer wont take that chance and if you do that without telling them and they find out later stage then they may terminate you.so dont take risk.if you find that job is paying more and have a good career growth then leave this one and join that.else there are many sites in education forum where you can earn without any problem.
    Thank You.

Dear your manager will definitely would be against you because if you will join the part time job then you will concentrate on two jobs in which your current job may come in the loss means manager thinks that if you join any other part time job then you would concentrate more on other job than the current and if that company provides you more than current then you can leave the job that is why your manager is going against your decision but dear you should not worry about this and keep your finding secret with everyone because if you will share then it would be opened in the entire office and your manager will also get the same information so that you should find out the best job as you consider the best and join that to earn more money for your expenses and do not tell to anybody about your job that you are working somewhere else too and if possible then you should find out that job which depends on the home so that you could work at any time in the home

    Hello,

I can understand that you are in need of money urgently.Since your boss is asking you not to get involved in any part time job,you dont have to give him any further information. If you can handle computer, then you can apply for online data entry jobs. After office hours you can do it.But you must keep in mind in order to earn some extra money, dont spoil your present job.If you hamper it then you may lose your job.

    Hi..............,

Many times employees not allow to do part time.
This is mainly because you are not allowed to concentrate any other place.
Make a good reputation in company.
If needed do part time at later stage.
Then they will not tell you anything.

    Thanks
