    Employees demanding for the provision of salary hike

    I am the manager of a small private firm. Ours is a new firm and thus we donít have any provision of salary hike as of now. But our employees are demanding for the provision of salary hike . I have told them that it wonít be possible before another 5 years but they are not ready to listen. How to deal with such a situation?

    You cannot do much in this situation as they are not ready to listen and you don't have sufficient budgets.

    Increasing salary as of now will cause a huge burden on the company so even if you try it, the company will be effected.

    It is better that you give a clear message that if any body can't work in the given conditions than they can leave the company.

    This will put a pressure on you if somebody leaves but it can only be the long term solution of such a situation.

    Because even if you raise some salary it is possible that they demand for more.

    So as it is a new firm it is better that from now only you make the changes in the employees that are not willing to work in the given pay as they will constantly

    raise demands in future also ultimately effecting the smooth working of the company.

    Hello..

    Being a manager you will face this kind of difficulties and now if your employees are not in mood to understand to you can do two things , first thing is you can talk with them and put this point that this company is new and there will be no salary hike and second thing is that if they are not able to understand your problem then whether you can fire them of you will have to give some extra pay, all depends upon you. Take your decision .

    Being the manager of the private company,you should take strong action in order to save your company as well as benefit the employees.This is a serious problem which is essential to be solved for the smooth functioning of your company.Otherwise this might lead to various negative issues.If it not solved,then you should try to reduce the effect of the problem for the time being.

    -This problem can be solved only by open discussion.
    -Go for a meeting with the representatives of the employees and the important rank holding persons of your company like the managing director,senior staffs.
    -Listen to the issues and demands of the employees.
    -Listen to the problems they are facing.
    -Then state about the present condition of the company.
    -Explain your inability to increase the salary of the employees due to the company's present condition.
    -Promise of hike in salary as the condition of the company becomes better.
    -Request for cooperation from the employees to combat the bad economic conditions of the company.
    -Request all to have patience for sometime and there will be positive response to their demands very soon.
    -You can use some emergency funds of the company to give small financial aids to the employees if they remain firm in their position.

    -However,report about this to the higher authority.
    -Request them for their interference in the matter.
    -Request them to take some steps regarding this issue which is turning out to be a big problem in the future.
    -Request them to look into this issue seriously for the smooth functioning of the firm.

    hi,

    If you are manager you must know that every year you have to a hike to your employee as per the govenrment poilicies. Eployees can not work for same salary for more then 1 finencial year. IF you can not give the salary hike atleast give them some kind of bonus and every thing is very costly in the current market from there point of viea you also have to think.

    Read some of the laws of government of india of labour union it will help you in your future.

    Yes your right in your approach you cannot directly hike salaries of employees without any increasing your profits i think employees should understand it better.. When your firm is new its important that employees should think for company than about them selves.. The important thing is to be done is you should win trust of clients and services provided by you should match the standard of their requirement.. When you have some good number of projects with you employees should work hard and develop the company financially then only they are liable for salary hike.. But if they insist upon salary hike simply is unjustified demand this may increase your financial budget.. For new company finance holds the key for company development and also for project services and quality management. So your right in your decision . When they do better performance you can give them festival bonus, incentives for deserving employees this encourage every employees to work hard.. All the best
