    Employee found guilty should be terminated or his contract should not be extended

    One of the employees in our organization is found guilty of harassing a woman employee. He had been taken on contract. Now his contract is at the edge of completion another 1 months. We are supposed to renew his contract. Can we terminate him at this moment for the act he has done and should we release him after the completion of contract? Please suggest

    You can terminate him if he found to be harassing a women employee. But you cannot dismiss him simply by giving him a termination letter. There are some procedure to be followed by you before termination him. Proper inquiry as to be followed before terminating him as per law. But it is time consuming and it may take more than 1 months. So its better to wait for another 1 month for his contract to be over. When his contract period is over you can terminate him by issuing a termination later by saying that your company is no longer interested in continuing his contract.

    Dear Aspirant,

    You can decide on the fact that whether the blame of harassing the woman employee has been proved or still it is only a blame.It is important because some body may be blamed under conspiracy due to some other reason.

    If the other performance in the interest of the organisation is good,the concerned employee may be given extension of the contract with issuing some hard instructions & warning to the same employees pertaining to maintaining the descipline in the organisation.So to my mind,pl. get the matter enquired & take decision accordingly.

    Hi.. You should certainly take a strict action against such employees and not let them get away with such misdeeds..

    Every woman should be respected and this is the moral responsibility of every man.. So the men who disrespect or harass women should certainly be taught a lesson so that they dont repeat it again..

    First of all you call that employee and the woman he is harassing to your office together and tell him to apologize to her for his misbehaviour..

    Then you terminate his job And give him reason for the same.. Also tell him to behave properly with women and respect them.. Or if you want to give him chance to improve then you can also do that so that he becomes a better person..
