    Is eatables allowed inside the Workplace?

    I am working in a company. We used to celebrate birthday parties for our colleagues. So at that time we will share sweets , snacks etc. Once a HR came to know this and asked us not to celebrate and bring eatables inside workplace. This happens occasionally but its being banned in my company. Is there any rule that we should not eat snacks and sweets inside the workplace.

    Yes it is possible to ban eatable items in the work place.There are so many companies where it is not allowed to bring eatables item in the company premises moreover it varies from one organisation to other.

    You can talk to your senior regarding the matter to know the norms of your company .You should take permission to higher authority before arranging any type of party in the office

    Is eatables allowed inside the work place? Question has no merit because such thing can not be restricted as mandatory.what does it mean eatable?tea biscuit is also eatable can you restrict it?

    Just i can say who work and conduct the working place they are the authority to take decision as per their need to introduce restrictions which item is restrictable and which are not.

    There are sweepers who clears all garbages timely so more or less disturbance may occur it is to be controlled by the room head and worker jointly.

    Hi friend

    You can certainly bring eatables inside your company like during break time when you have lunch but in this case i think your HR doesnt want you to party inside the work premises and thats why he told you not to celebrate and bring eatables inside the workplace...But there are no strict rules or laws against such things and they always vary from company to company..

    But i think you should obey your HR and dont hold such celebrations inside the workplace as you have to maintain good relations with your HR as he is instrumental in giving you promotions and appraisals and if you dont obey him then you certainly wont be able to grow professionally due to your negative impact on your HR..

    You can look for a good restaurant or a park near your workplace and celebrate there during your lunchtime..Inthis way yoiur HR will also be satisfied and you too will have a good time..

    Office Is The Work Palace, And We Are Going To Office For Work, And Office Provide The Canteen Facility For The Employees For The Launch And Other Parties, But If HR Are Give The Ultimate That You Are Not Celebrate Party In Office Than It's Fare,
    If You Want The Party In Office Than Talk With HR........

    Hay...
    There may be such rule and regulation for the ban of eatable thing in the Company Office.. It may be strict and you may have some fine too...
    So it will be better not to celebrate such party in your office... Just call all the colleagues to a resturent and give them the party, it will be more better...

    Yes, friend celebrating parties at work place is not tolerable.......As you have Many no.of restaurants,Pubs etc., for celebration...........
    There are certain rules about getting eatables at work places,..........But it vary from organisation to organisation.............
    You can share the sweets at the lunch time or after office hours.........
    As the company is paying a hugesome for your work time of 7hours. In these hours they wont bare you if you r wasting time along with others...........

    So better to avoid these type of things in your Job.........And impress your HR you will definetly placed in higher positions.................

    Hi Friends!

    There is no way to ban celebration birthday party by any company. But more common thing is that You need to tell your boss or senior person of company before celebration any birthday party. Because most of company have another space for celebration party, lunch bar like this etc where you can take enjoy. if you celebrate any function at work place, there may be a lot of disturbance for other employees who is working, so any company does not want to loose their business due to this. Due to this reason company can forbade you to celebrate any party function at work place.

    Each company have framed some rules and regulation. If in your company if there is a rule that the eatables are not allowed in side the office then you have to follow the rules and regulation and each person has to follow the same in the letter and spirit.

    Most of the company's frame such types of rules and regulation. But the company's do not ban eatables during the break hours. Most of the MNCs will be having the provision of providing eatables free of cost.

    Hence you have to obey what your HR is telling and don't try to eat some thing in the office hours. But if there is some celebration such as birthday celebrations then you have to take the permission from your boss. Most of the company encourages celebration and that to with the permission of your superior.

    Dear Aspirant,

    It depends upon the nature of works being carried out in the company.

    You might be having a canteen or a common room to get together on special occassion.

    I think you are not inviting your kind HR,that is why he has banned you to celebrate.

    Once see the result after inviting him.

    It will be better to get together in common room or canteen as it might be spoiling the cleaness of the work place.

    Hello Friend,
    there are many rules differ from company to company and also from project to project.
    inorder to get a project company needs to follow few of there rules like setup of the premises,coverage time,working shifts,what should be allowed and what not...etc
    so on eatables if there is any restriction then you cant do any thing and if you found with that inside the premises then they may take action .
    why they create such type of restriction on eatables is that if you bring them to your cabin then there is a chance of dropping some on the floor and making the floor dirty ,which will create abad impression among the clients if they find out it apart from that it will attracts rodents to that place then that will be a major problem.imagine where there are so much of circuitry ,applications ,systems ,wires ,what devastation a rodent exp RAT can do.which will eventually hamper the business,so company dont allow that.
    but some times you can take ts not that strict any where.but better if you complete your dinner ,lunch...etc in company canteen then there will be people to cleanup your mess to avoid any rodents problem.

    hello friendEvery company has it's own special rules and regulations so an employee should bear it.But these rules can be break occasionally if concerned department allows permission to do it.In my thought you should treat a party in canteen shop, caffe,hotel, motel etc.Because breaking rules that have settled by higher authority is not in your favor because this little mistake may be the reason of loosing the job.so celebration is personal but rules are personnel.so enjoy the party but living in boundaries.all the best

    Hello
    Generally eatables are not allowed to the workplace as this will leave the place untidy.
    So it is asked not to bring eatables to the workstation/workplace.

    If you want to celebrate birthdays or share some eatables then you can find an alternate place like cafeteria where you can celebrate .
    There is no particular rule on it but it is asked so that to keep the workplace clean .
