Do we need to keep our original certificate as a security while joining the company?

I completed my B.E in computer science engineering and got an opportunity in a company. They are asking to give my original certificates as a security while joining the company and they will give me back after one year? Do we need to keep it as a security? Is it safe to give my original marks cards for the same? Please suggest.

    Hi,
Congratulations. Now a days almost all the companies asking security bond for freshers for a certain
period. Some companies asking security deposits and some others like yours asking originals as security.

Why they are asking means they invest some money and time on you to mould you for their requirments. All of a sudden if you got another better oppurtunity or what ever reason you want to quit organisation then it lose for them. For experienced folks they no need spend money to train them no matter of bond.

Finally you can give whatever they ask as security as a fresher but except ORIGINAL certificates, request them just verify and take back.

    All the best!!

Re: Do we need to keep our original certificate as a security while joining the company?

    Hi friend,

First of all congratulations on getting the job.

Most of the companies ask for the original certificates my friend.

Top MNC companies and the small firms ask for the certificates and they will be safe with them.

Its like the surety that you would work for the company for the bond period without any failure.

As they said they would return it after one year they would definitely do.

With those certificates they do some background verification that are they original or duplicate.

They check whether the employee is geniune or has he got any fake certificate or what.

Its the company terms and conditions to submit the originals while working in the company unless and until you are recognized as the genuine worker.

After one year they would definitely return it to you dont worry.

Some of the companies ask you to sign a bond and some of the companies ask you to deposit some amount of money for security purpose too.

They keep the certificates with them in order to make you serve for their company for at least one year, if you think of quiting you cannot unless and until you serve the bond.

So this is the reason they take your certificates.

Do not worry my friend it is mandatory in most of the companies.

Hope i have helped you in getting relevant information.

    All the best

    Thanking you...

Hi. First of all Congrats for the job. Ya i dont there is any problem in giving your original certificate to the company for security if you are really willing to join the job. They will surely return it to you in the specified time.

Actually today many companies are taking up this procedure in order to assure that you dont leave the job in between at an early stage. This is just for their security as they would have to spend more time and effort in finding any suitable candidate if you leave the job soon thus wasting their resources.

Do make sure you have a photocopy of your certificates atleast.

    Best of luck. Thanks

Re: Do we need to keep our original certificate as a security while joining the company?

I would suggest you before submitting the original documents to the company, completely enquiry about it and you can ask the employees working there about the submission of original documents and whether the company have returned the same after one year or not. If you are satisfied by the above enquires, then you are liable to provide the original documents in order to get the job. Different companies uses different measures in order to keep their employees intact in their company. Some companies request to sign the bond for a certain tenure, some companies may ask to deposit the security amount and some company may use other measure. So we must follow it.

Yes, you are absolutely correct that company will ask for the original certificate. They asks this because they want to be sure that, you may not leave the company at any time without informing and marked absconding and the amount that will spend on you, like training and many other facilities will not be wasted. I suggest you to please provide the company with your original certificate if you are sure that you can work for complete year.

    Hi Aspirant,
Most of the company required the Original certificate for security purpose. This is only for future security. It is
also called a BOND period, most of the candidate leave the job for money, so company decide that to get a original
    certificate for some month.
Every company giving you training when you join, and there is a cost for this which is paid by the company.
so they take bond from the candidates.
    Thanking you!

    Hi Friend,
Congrats for your new role. Bond rules in private companies are in their own discretion. As they invest on freshers training, certification courses and put them in projects, if they do not make their bond rules stringent people people might leave in few months and that can cause loss for company. So keeping original certificate is kind of bond rule where some other companies as hefty amount as bond. Do not worry about safety concern for certificates, as it will be safe in company locker and after a year as they mentioned they will give it back to you.

    Hello

See the thing is if you give your original certificated to them for 1 year then you wont be able to change any company or leave that company if you dont like the work.

Its safe to give your certificates no problem in that. They will keep it safe for you. I hope its a good company though.

Now if you are very sure that you will work here for minimum 1 year without changing your mind then go ahead without worrying much.

You will get your experience plus you can get some big companies depending on that experience.

    Thank you

    Hello,

    Congratulations for your job.

The company is asking you to submit your certificates as security for a year that means the company is asking you to serve the company for atleast 1 year.

They are not signing any bond with you and instead they are taking your certificate as security.

But it would be advisable if you enquire the details .

Enquire about if they will make an agreement that they will return your certificates after 1 year.

Enquire about if they will return your certificate if you leave the job before 1 year,

What are the procedure to get back your certificate.

Clear all the facts before you submit the certificate.

If things are alright then you can join the job.

    Thank you

    Dear Friend

First of all congratulations to get the first job in your carrer..

Yes in the present the private companies keep the original documents with them for some time as security ..

They do it as bond if you leave the company before a certain period time in the bond then you have to pay a certain amount of money to the company or they will not return you the original documents ..

SO you have to submit the original documents as if you have to work there and you can not leave the company before the bond period is over..

They do it because many candidates switch to other job whenever they get the chance and they have to recruit new candidates again and work on them..

This gives loss only so for the welfare of the company they make you sign a bond..

So deposit the documents and perform good in the job..

    Dear Aspirant,

I would like to congratulate first of all For your Job.Now come to the point:

If company is asking about submission your original certificates as a security that means you have to bound with them at least one year. You don't need to worry because many companies ask for the original certificates and keep it till bounding period mostly top MNC companies and some firms do this but your documents will be safe there. If they said they will return it after one year then they defiantly do same.

They keep certificate because just they find out employee background verification. They check you are genuine or not? Its like a school and college process while we take a admission in new school /college they require our some original document like provisional certificate etc.and keep it till end.

It's the company terms and conditions either submit the originals documents or security money.

But before submitting the original documents you should do complete enquiry about company background you can ask for this to working employees that they do the same process before joining or not? most important question you should ask to management that if your leave job before one year they will return your certificate? after clear your all doubts you can submit your original documents with them but take a print out before giving to management.

Re: Do we need to keep our original certificate as a security while joining the company?

Dear candidate:When a candidate get a job up to his/her satisfaction and also do bond agreement with the company than a candidate has no objection to deliver his/her original certificates to the company.Because he/she has done bond agreement so need less to say they will not seek better job then original certificate has no importance so company company can keep original certificate as security if the company realize that is the best process to keep solid employees they can do usage as usual.

    Thank you,

Now a days most the businesses asking security bond for freshers for a definite
period. Some corporations asking security deposits and a few others like yours asking originals as security.

Why they're asking means that they invest some cash and time on you to mold you for his or her requirements. All of a explosive if you bought another higher opportunity or what ever reason you wish to quit organization then it lose for them. For experienced people they no want pay cash to coach them notwithstanding of bond.

Finally you'll provide no matter they raise as security as a freshman however except ORIGINAL certificates, request them simply verify and take back.

I would recommend you before submitting the first documents to the corporate, utterly inquiry concerning it and you'll raise the workers operating there concerning the submission of original documents and whether or not the corporate have came an equivalent when one year or not. If you're happy by the on top of inquires, then you're vulnerable to offer the first documents so as to induce the work. totally different corporations uses different measures so as to stay their staff intact in their company. Some corporations request to sign the bond for a definite tenure, some corporations might raise to deposit the safety quantity and a few company might use different live. therefore we have a tendency to should follow it.

Re: Do we need to keep our original certificate as a security while joining the company?

    Hello Friend,
Most of the companies dont ask for original certificates in original, they just verify it on the day of joining and any discrepancy they terminate the candidate right there.apart from that they take the xerox copies of all certificates along with all ID proofs(PAN CARD,Passport..etc) and offerletter,
so they dont need to take your Certificates as security
But if the company demands for this you need to think twice before joining that company because unless you complete the bond period you wont be able to leave the job for any other purpose.
but you also need to understand why companies do like this.it is because many candidates have the tendency of switching job and even for many freshers its observed that they carry offer from two three company but they join which ever companies offer comes first and leave when they get better offer.
and the previous company which spent so much amount on the candidate to give him training and all other facility what an employee get looses its amount when the candidate leaves .so they take these percussion.
    Thank you.

hello friendFirst of all you many many congratulations ....As being a fresher you should survive all things that a company ask you to do.These types requirements like*security in form of money*security of original educational documents*guaranter of employees ' witness*creating a signig bonds etc. These are only formalities and do not effect to your things but it should be complete and you should take all documents or money after working some months or a year.Because due to any fault your documents can miss or loose.I hope all companies return it after some times. They ask for it only to completing the formality because any candidate can withdraw his/,her job if he/she get better job and any candidate can do any mistakes which will very costly so company want to it for filling gap in these special time.all the best
