    Hi,

It is good to negotiate salary.... however remember that it should be done keeping in mind the following points:

    [1] You are not fresher
[2] What type of degree your are having
[3] Work knowledge - Book knowledge is completely different from practical.... Book knowledge is important but practical knowledge carries the weight
[4] Ranking always not the right tool for salary negotiation

While negoitiating salary remember the following points:
[1] Average Market value for an employee of your grade/degree/knowledge... though it sometime vary company to company
[2] Special allowance for job at other location away from Home town
[3] Relocation expenses like - transport of household goods, Travel fare, Resettlement expenses, etc.
[4] Clear about the fixed and variable part of your salary component
[5] Try to negotiate for Fixed Salary part
[6] Employee Benefits needs to be looked into....

However it will be wise not to negotiate too much for fresh candidate.....

    Good luck.

    Hello Aspirant,

Heartily congratulations for getting graduation degree.Best of luck for getting your desired job at the earliest.Negotiation for salary is applicable when you have more than one option to join a job at a time & also it is applicable when you are already working somewhere.Being a fresher it is not advisable to negotiate for salary, but it does not mean to join any where without a reasonable salary.

You should be aware of what salary to be paid to you at the initial stage. What is current salary status of your cadre.Accordingly you should keep in your mind & even if you are offered little lower salary than your expectation & market position of salary, you should join first in order to get exposure & experience in the job.

After getting experience of two or three years, you may have many chances to get better job with more salary.Experienced hands are preferred to get more & more job.

So see your position & move forward.

    Good luck.
