Is distance/correspondence learning equally fruitful like regular learning from professional point of view?

Many of my friends are pursuing distance/correspondence courses as well as they do part time jobs. They say that distance learning is almost equal to regular ones.Is it true ? Will distance learning be equally beneficial like the regular course? What are the advantages of regular course?

    Hi.........,

I think you have heared about a proverb that more you work is more to win

    * Regular course is not similar as a correspondence course.
    * Regular course is given more importance in many field.
    * While in promotion they ask for regular high degree.

    Hi,

See,a regular course definitely has an upper hand over distance learning course.
I am saying so because during a regular course, you get a chance to meet other people.
You understand what the world is all about.
You come across variety of people and develop the courage to face the world.
On the other hand,in distance learning, there is nothing like this.

Also in regular colleges, you have various extra curricular activities that help in all round development of a student.
This is absent in case of distance learning.

So you should definitely try to find a regular course and touch the new heights in the future!

    Bye!

    Dear Aspirant,

Yes,the correspondence/distance course is equally benificial to regular course with respect to certain purposes. For example,if you apply for any entrance or exam for job such as staff selection commission, state govt.commission like BPSC/MPSC/TNPSC/ & central govt. commission such as UPSC or for banking service like Institute of Banking Personal Selection exam etc.

The candidates passed from regular course & from distance course are equivalent to write the exam. The difference is that there are more nos.of classes & facilities in regular course compare to distance education. You will have to labour hard in distance education because you may not have sufficient guidance.Secondly,if you are in a reputed college/Institution for your studies in regular course, you may have chance to get campus selection. You will have better & competitive environment in regular course by which you may labour hard to get good result.

If you have decided to do course by correspondence,IGNOU is the best.IGNOU means Indra Gandhi National Open University. For details you can visit its website as www.ignou.ac.in.

    Thanks & good luck.

    Ashok..

Dear questioner as per my view on an average distance learning can not be equally beneficial like the regular course.

1.Comparison between distance learning and regular course can not be done equally/as a whole.

2.There are many courses which can not be completed through distance learning.

3.Those courses which require technical/regular classes for example in engineering/medical in distance learning such courses is impossible.

4.So almost equel with regular course is not right it is exceptionally ok like the courses where technical classes is not needed like Arts so a candidate of like that group can claim we do part time jobs as well as distance learning simultaneously and advantage is more with distance learning.

So my dear friends exception is seen everywhere and debate/action is not considered on the basis of exception. So as per me on the point of professional view importance of regular courses is more and more higher/bright than distance education.

    Thank you,

Degree from Regular learning mode is always considered superior to the distance / correspondence learning mode in terms of the jobs. You must note that both are considered valid degree. Value of both remains equal in the job at government sector and in competition exams. But when it comes to job at private sector, then the person holding a regular degree is given more preference than others. Distance learning mode is only opted by them who want to work with studying, that's why your's friends are doing so. If you are also working, then there would be no problem in going through this.
