    Discrimination between contract employees and permanent employees

    I am working as an contract employee in HP. In my team there are 18 people out of which 12 of them are permanent employees. Privileges that are available for permanent employees are not there for contract employees. They are given Bags or other accessories once in a year, which we donít get just because we are contract employees. Are they supposed to do discrimination between their employees?

    In todays more company are hiring contract based employee..because they want to fill short term working gap in the company for creating rapid technology advancement..The opportunities for both choices are currently abundant.but if you will give good performance and in that company have opportunity then after completing contract they will hire you..but within a contract period give the best performance...

    You are an contract employee or temporary employee it means your job is limited in your company

    Where as Permanent employee who has been hired for a position without a pre-determined time limit

    A permanent employee differs from a term or temporary employee, both of which have a pre-determined period of employment.

    Because as you said you are an Contract employee so there will be always some difference between you and other employees

    May sometime they wont treat you in good manner but never give up enjoy your job

    It's absolutely based on the company decision to grant privileges for both contract and Permanent employees

    Generally permanent employees will enjoy more benefits

    Contract employees will get the benefits only after getting permanent position in the company

    This is the usual standards , policies followed in all organisations

    Discrimination will happen in these cases

    Incase if you don't get proper way and work , you can report to your HR regarding this issue

    Poosible you can ask your Facilites Management Team for more details on this

    Read your company policies before proceeding with any issue

    Being a contractual employee you must not be surpearuresrised or preplexed.these are the very common tures in the company.majority are permanent employee you always speak with them gently,respect them,listen their advice later you will be benefitted.those who are permanent they have no headaache about increamet,salary,etc.so keep up good relation do not think more about the permanent employees extra ordinery privileges,this is the customs do work attentively during contract period one day you will be permanent like them then you enjoy too.

    No i dont think they are doing any partiality or discrimination . When you got your job you must have signed a bond if you have read it carefully then you should have know that permanent employees are bound to get a little more than you else what is the difference between a contract and permanent employee??

    Once you become permanent you will be also given some special privilege. A basic example will be a fresher and an employee who has 1 year of experience both are not given the equal amount of salary are they??

    just keep on working once you achieve a high post these little things like bags and all wont even matter anymore.

    see let me very clear to you is that contract employee means the employee who works on a contract for limited period like 1 year and 2 year like that....
    so they won't get any benefits from company as compare to permanent employee because permanent employee are for permanent so don't get confuse...
    even do work hard to get permanent job...

    There is a difference between contract employees and permanent employees.

    Contract employees are hired by the employer for a certain period of time assigned a particular task.

    While the permanent employees are hired for an uncertain period.

    Permanent employees are offered more facilities in form of more salary,perks,etc.

    While the contract employers are mot given as much benefits as permanent employees.

    So,you should work sincerely in this case and perform the assigned task in the desired manner so that you can be further employed as a

    permanent employees.

    Depending on the choice of employee he/she can join any company as permanent or contract basis .who join through contract basis have to work for a limited time like then can work for a project etc.they cannot do permanent job in that company.though company give them more salary as compared to permanent employee but after the time which was considered the last time,they have to leave that company or they have to sign another deal for next project etc.
    permanent employee join company to work permanently in that company.they may get less salary but they will not be unemployed any time because they can do work in company for life time like 20 to 30 years.thus you can see that permanent employee are more preferred by any company for any new project because they will not leave company before completion of project.

    contract employees:-

    1. Contract employees are nothing but the employees those who are on probation.

    2. During probation you are not paid any incentives.

    3. After working for some years you would be made permanent depending on your performance.

    4. During which you would be provided all the benefits by the company.

    5. You need to work hard and have a good impression in the organisation in order to get permanent.

    permanent employees:-

    1. The employees who have got a experience are called permanent employees.

    2. They would get all the benefits provided by the company.

    3. They are provided with all the incentives too.

    There will be no discrimination because it is common in almost all the organisations including the govt sector too.


    so dont worry work hard and get a good impression and you would be definitely made permanent.

    I inform you both are different way way like

    contract base limited time period like 1 year

    and your deal with company sign.according.

    Permanant employe is a good because they get

    many benefit and no burden job in work.

    Permanant employee doing good work in company.

    If they work well, then they are made permanent.

    Good perfermance in that company have opportunity to grow and become permanent.

    Hi,

    I would like to let you know that If you are working as a contract employee of HP, then it means you are not on the direct payroll of HP. If you are not on the direct payroll of the company then as per the company norms you will not be eligible to get any benefits of the company. Thatís why you didnít get the bag and other accessories.

    You can get the benefits of that company which have recruited you and giving you the salary. Once you become the permanent employee of the HP, will get all the benefits like other employees.
    So donít feel bad, just think that you are sitting on the client site. Thatís it.

    Yes, there is some difference in salary and other benefits between contract based employes and permanent employes there. Permanent employes can also get more benefits and incentives then contract based employes as those are more responsible employes in the field. Incentive policy depends on the companies rules and policies and you can discuss this matter with the management there and It is not employes discrimination I would say.

    employee is staying permenently.

    contract employee hiried becoz they need manpower that time

    but they can give them any facility coz your salary they dont give.

    so if you work hard ans give your performance they will give you a permennt job their so best luck

    this is nothing like discrimination or partiality by company rather these are the facility provided by the company to its permanent or more experienced people to retain their post.you are there for contract basis and you will move to some other project once the work is done or work load subsidizes but they will still continue with their work.so inorder to keep the old and senior employees to their respective posts these are the minor incentive provided by the company.

    Dear Friend,

    Contract employees are selected only for a particular period which they sign at the beginning of their career.

    But permanent employees are supposed to work there until they retire.

    So companies won't show much interest in the welfare of contract employees.

    As a person who takes a house for rent does not spent much money to make it look good thus the companies won't care about the contract workers.

    Try to become a permanent employee by passing the necessary examinations.

    Prepare well before the exams.

    The treatment of confirmed employee and contract employee depends and vary company to company....How ever there should not be any separate treatment in terms of employee benefits....Salary may varry...

    The issue can be discusse with the HR for proper solution and the discremination...
    Persons serving for the company should be treated in the same way...

    Dear this is not discrimination, this is happening because you are working on contract basis and company authorities think that if they give you any type of accessories and bags etc. then this will not be good for the company because you are not the permanent and one day you have to leave the company that is why there is no use of bags and other accessories in the company means company wants employees to use all necessary given accessories for company's work not for personal and they also think that when your contract date will be over then you will leave the job and you will bring all the necessary things with yourself and will not return to the company that is why they do not give you anything and you should understand this situation means everyone wants their profit and for that they do everything whatever they can

    Dear as for as my views are concerned that this shouldn't be in any company because this is the real humiliation of employees in the company and this will happen then no one will come for job on contract but so may unemployed candidates are compel to work and to survive in the world that is why they do but companies and organizations should take care of their rights and think about better future for everyone and this type of discrimination should be banned by the corporate world and must give the same position for every permanent and contract employee then business will be developed and India will go ahead in the world

    at your level or from your side,you are thinking right.
    but atleast one time think from the company's point of view or permanent employees' point of view.
    obviously, there is some difference between you and a permanent employee due that he is permanent.
    may be he has more qualification,higher degree,or he may selected after some competitive exam.
    so,if they are different from you ,obviously they will get some privilage.
    but you should not worry.instead of worry,you should labour hard and try to be permanent.
