    Discrimination on the basis caste during appraisal

    I have been doing field work for the last 3 years but I got an average annual appraisal. My colleague who belonged to upper caste and is also holding similar profile has got higher appraisal. We all work hard and achieved proven track record but still discrimination happens. How should I talk it out without much hype?

    Hi friend

    Your management should have definitely not practiced such bias on the basis of caste and should have not indulged in such ridiculous behaviour. If they gave you an average annual appraisal just because you didn't belong to upper caste, inspite of your proven track record and your work hard, then its definitely ridiculous and you should definitely raise you voice against such injustice and not withstand it quietly. You should immediately go to your higher authorities and talk regarding this.

    Tell them that you have been doing field work for the last 3 years and still got an average appraisal while your collegue, just because he belongs to upper caste, and is holding similar profile , got higher appraisal. You have been working hard throughout the year and have proven track record, and if inspite of all these things you don't get a good appraisal based on cast distinctions, then this is not fair at all. You want them to look into this matter and do full justice with you. Otherwise you will be forced to leave the company or take some action against them.

    I am sure they will feel ashamed of their behaviour and thus help you out in this matter. Good luck for your future

    Discrimanating on the basis of caste during appraisal is cmpletely biased and this practice should be stopped in anyway.
    An employee should be judged on the basis of his hard work and performance and not on caste.
    It is the performance that count.
    If such kind of practice goes on then it will demoralise the employees.
    So if this kind of bias is going on with you then you should discuss this matter with your manager .
    If you dont want to hype it then you can go and discuss regarding your appraisal and ask them on what basis the appraisal is given and how you should to get a better appraisal.

    this is not right at all. you should raise your voice against this injustice. try to discuss this matter with your manager. this bias nature of your company is not the good example for future. discuss about the appraisal and the reasons why it was given to the people, and how. may be they can come up with the sensible reason if not just talk to them about that bias nature at that point only.
