    Difference between Group 1, 2 and 3 services? Qualification required for these services?

    Hello sir, please tell me the difference between Group 1 2 and 3..? Qualification for these services? and my qualification is MS(Software engineering.)

    the qualifications required for above posts are a bachelor degree from any recognised university.

    group 1 deals with grade 1 posts like assistant and deputy caders in all major government sectors


    group2 deals with junior assistants in all government sectors

    Hi,
    The difference for the respective groups are as follows:
    Group1 :
    It is for higher position jobs like DCP,Assistant Commissioner,Assistant Director of Rural Development department, etc.
    Qualifications: Any graduate from recognized university.

    Group 2:
    It includes lower positions under the state government like Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Sub-Registrar Grade II , Municipal Commissioner, etc.
    Qualification: Bachelor degree


    Group 3:
    It includes posts like Sterno typist, Security staff etc.
    Qualification:minimum qualification 10+2 and above.

    Group 4 : It includes posts like Junior assistant , typist etc.
    Qualification:minimum qualification 10+2 and above

    For Group 1 and 2 any bachelor degree from a recognised university in India is enough.
    For Group 3 and 4 10+2 qualification is enough.

    Group 1 and 2 are the high pay jobs when compared to group 3 and 4.
    If there are any vacancies they will update in the websites.
    For tamil nadu the website is tnpsc.gov.in

    You can visit this website frequently for any vacancies.

    Group 1, 2 ,3 and 4 are the different type of exams for different type of posts.

    Based on type of posts they are divided into four groups. And the qualification is also different for each group exam.

    Group 1:

    Eligibility for Group and Group 2 :

    The candidate should completed his bachelor's degree and for some posts the candidate should be Graduate from a recognized university.

    based on post the qualification will be varied.

    Posts under group and group 2:

    Asst. Commercial Tax Officer
    2. Assistant Labour Officer
    3. Executive Officer Grade-I
    4. Assistant Development Officer

    5. Assistant Section Officer
    6. Assistant Section Officer
    7. Senior Accountant etc...

    Group 3:

    Eligibility :

    The candidate should complete 10+2.
    Group 4 :

    Qualification for Group4 is 10+2 passed. And the candidate you have at least 54 % of marks.

    Posts under group 4:

    1. Typist

    2. Steno typist Gr-II

    Age limit : 18 - 35 years

    Hi Aspirant,
    As per your question, govt. decide the various post for different-catagories such as-
    Group 1
    Group 2
    Group 3
    In group 1 mainly IAS/IFS/IES type exam will be conducted
    In Group 2, mainly SI/RAILWAY JE/ BANKING POST OFFICE jobs will be conducted.
    In group 3, mainly Helper/clerk post will be conducted.

    UPSC conduct exam for Group 1 type of post.
    SSC conduct exam for Group 1 type of post.
