    Information about a Combined Engineering service and Indian Engineering Service (IES) : There are huge difference between a Combined Engineering service and Indian Engineering service and for Combined Engineering service you have to write a entrance exam .

    Combined Engineering service is divided into two stages :

    1) Stage I : In this stage there are total 1000 marks paper will be conducted and time limit of paper is two hours .

    2) Stage II : In stage II you have to Personality paper of 200 marks will be conducted .

    The Combined Engineering service examination conducted for each branch candidates like Mechanical,Electronics and Computer Science engineering field candidates .But in case of Indian Engineering service examination will be conducted by Union Public Service commission and Paper of IES examination will be divide into a two parts :

    >>> Written Test

    >>> Personality Test

    Through Written test they will be check your technical skills and consist of 120 minutes .

    The eligibility criteria to applying for Indian Engineering service are following as :

    1) You should passed B.E degree or equivalent degree from Reputed institute in India and proper citizen of India.

    2) Your age should be lies in the range of 21 to 30 years or not exceed from 30 years .

    Dear sir,


    Following are the difference between combined engineering service and indian engineering service:-


    INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE:-

    This exam is conducted for only four branches:-
    (1)electrical
    (2)mechanical
    (3)civil and
    (4)electronics and communication

    The eligibility criteria to apply this exam is:-
    You should have B.TECH/B.E degree from reputed institutes in india.
    You should be the proper citizen of india.
    Your age should lie between 21 to 30 years.Some age relaxation is given for sc/st and obc.

    The examination is divided into two parts:-
    (1)written test
    (2)personality test


    COMBINED ENGINEERING SERVICE:-

    This exam is divided into two stage:-
    Stage 1: in this stage,the time limit of exam is two hours and the paper consists of 1000 marks.
    Stage 2: in stage II,there is a personality paper of 200 marks.

    This exam is conducted for each branch engineering candidates.

    Combined Engineering service examination shall be conducted according to the following plan:

    Part 1:
    The written examination for IES 2012 will comprise two sections Section I consisting only of objective types of questions and Section II of conventional papers.

    PART 2:
    Personality test carrying a maximum of 200 marks of such of the candidates who qualify on the basis of the written examination

    Eligibility for IES exam:

    The candidate should complete Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.

    You should have at least 60 % of marks to apply for IES exam.

    It is three days exam. The exam consist 5 papers

    After clearing IES exam you will have interview.

    The exam consist both objective and descriptive papers.
