    Difference between Casual Leave, Sick leave and earned leave? For how many days I can take leave for the same?

    I am working in a private firm. Will you please tell me what is the difference between sick leave, earned leave and casual leave and for how many days I can take leave for the same?

    4 Bulk Leaves can be availed with proper Medical Proofs Bulk Leaves can be availed only on

    Note : Casual Leave count will increase if no leave is taken for continuous 15 days . This policy varies for each firm .

    Sick leave is leave you can take in case of any health problems and you need to provide doctor certificate.
    Earned leave is the leave earned by the employees when they serve the organisation.
    This leave is earned during the year and continued in the subsequent year.
    Casual leave is the leave not earned while on duty.
    This leave has to be taken by teh employee after getting approval from the employer.

    as per factories has decide it --- EARNED LEAVE is 1 for every 20 days working.... and about CASUAL LEAVE it is maximum ... 7.... SICK lEAVE is 10!!!! and yes as you asked the difference .... ----earned leaves are those for which you have to earn it in whole year !!! casual leaves are those which you take for any .... personal requirements.... ,for personal ocassions only .....AND sick leaves are those which you can take if you are ill... with some medicle certificates that you will have to submit later !!! thank you !!! i think this will help you much!!!!

    CASUAL LEAVE-- it is maximum ... 7...
    . SICK lEAVE-- is 10 and yes as you asked the difference .-earned leaves are those for which you have to earn it in whole year !!! casual leaves are those which you take for any .... personal requirements.... ,for personal ocassions only .AND sick leaves are those which you can take if you are ill... with some medicle certificates that you will have to submit later ! i think this will help you much

    Sick leave - These are leaves that are taken due to illness.It includes the category of long term diseases like typhoid(and many other severe diseases).These leaves also include in case hospitality. These leaves are not paid leaves, your salary will be deducted as per the company policy.

    Casual leaves - You are eligible for these leaves after 15 or 30 days(depending on company policy) of completion with the company from the time of joining. You will get 1 CL in a month. You will get the CL of 1st month in the 2nd month, so 2 CL will be credited in your account in the 2nd month.These leaves are taken with proper reasoning(important work or emergency).These leaves requires the approval of your manager.

    Earned leaves - These leaves are provided by the company after you have completed your 6 months(in most of the companies). You can use these leaves for continuous large number of days like continuous 15 days. There is the proper month according to which you will get these leaves in a year after completion of 6 months.

    Please note that CL and EL are the paid leaves, no salary will be deducted from your salary account.

    Many organizations decides theirselves these differences but when we have got discussed about the difference then in earned leaves are that which have earned while working in the organization for one year, casual leave is just only for your personal matters as any accident or any closest relatives marriage and sick leave is that by which you could take the rest in case if you are suffering from any disease for few a days. The timing has been decided by company that how much period could be given as casual leave, sick leave or in earned leave.

    Sick leave is the leave that you take when you are not feeling well and you can take this leave once in a month providing proper medical certificate.
    This leave are not carried to the next year. In some companies t cannot be carried to the next quarter.
    Earned leave is the leave that you get because you work for the organization like OD.
    You can carry this leave to next year.

    Sick Leave is paid time off work if your are sick or injured.

    If you have more than 6 months experience in your company then you can get up to five days sick leave. If you been employed for less than six months you are not entitled to any minimum sick leave. you can check your employment agreement.

    Casual leaves are the general leaves. To get casual leaves you have to take the permission from the Higher department. You will have only 2 or 3 casual leaves in a month. If you take more than 2 casual leaves you will loose your salary.

    Earned Leaves:

    Earned leave is leave that has been accrued by the length of employment service with the company

    and if we talk about sick leave is nothing but it is a type of emergency like if you are not well and all then you can take this leave...
    and if we talk about casual leave it is just like you are taking casually like you want to go anywhere in any emergency function then you can take this...

    Hi,

    Please see below, I have briefed about all the leaves.

    Sick leave : Sick leaves are those leaves which you can take whenever you are suffering from some illness either its small disease like headache or long term disease like typhoid and many other severe diseases in which you would have hospitalized.
    If you take only 2 leaves then there is no need to provide the certificate, but if your are taking more than 2 leaves as Sick leaves, then you have provide the all medical documents and medical certificate as well.
    Every company provided some leaves as Sick leaves. Most of them provides 7 leaves as SL.

    Casual leaves: These are the leaves which you can take any whenever you required. You have to provide the reason if you are going on emergency. You will be getting 5 or 7 casual leaves in a year as per the company policy. If your company has a policy of carry forwarding the casual leaves for the next year then you can do it.

    Earned leaves: These are the leaves which you can take continuously for some days. Basically the meaning of earned leaves is that you earn these leaves while you are serving the company. You will get these leaves in your account quarterly for that whole quarter. In some company it credited in month end also, So its totally depends on companyís policy. You can also carry forward these leaves for the next year.

    Dear friend-Casual leave means for emergency and domestic purpose,sick leave means for sick,medical purpose,earned leave,for travelling/marriage/en-cashment purposes.

    casual leave 12 days' sick leave is for medical purposes depend on length of service,earned leave 30 days pa.

    Dear Aspirant,

    The casual leave is a kind of leave which can be availed in case of temporary urgency for few days.It is 16 days in govt. offices & 6 to 10 days in corporates.In general you are required to take prior approval but you can avail it in urgency without prior approval by mere informing to your boss.

    Sick leave is availed on the ground of medical advice.This leave is given for treatment & to take rest.It can be availed months together with full pay.

    Earn leave is a kind of leave which is not lapsed at the end of a calender year like the casual leave.It is accumulated totally up to 300 days.It varies from 20 to 33 days in a year.After accumulation of 300 days ,the over nos of earn leave is automatically lapsed.There is a provision of encashment of 15 days earn leave in a year in priavate firms.You can avail months together in case of need with the prior approval.

    Hello Friend,
    in corporate there is no such concept of Casual leaves.
    yeah Earned leave is there ,in earned leave you can take leaves without loss of pay.every commpany set a specified number of days in a year as earned leave and it varies company to company and its approximately varies from 20-30 days.
    and these days get credited to your account as months passes.
    1-2 days per month
    you can avail when ever you require them

    apart from the earned leaves there are certain type of leaves in which you dont suffer from loss of pay.
    but these leaves are limited
    like sick leaves(usually 5-6 days)
    bereavement leaves
    Maternity leave(only for women)
    ...etc
    these are special type of earned leave
    you can avail these in case of emergency.
