From which date will be my PF and ESI amount considered, from the date of joining or from the date of promotion?

I was joined as a trainee and given appointment letter in which there was no PF and ESI deduction. After 3 months I got promoted to permanent employee and now they have given different appointment letter in which PF and ESI is also mentioned. I want to know from which date my PF and ESI amount will be deducted. Is it from the date of joining as a trainee or from the date I got promoted to employee? Please help.

According to the ESI and PF act even a trainee is also to be entered under ESI and PF. But your company has not done it.

PF and ESI amount has to be deducted when an employee is enrolled under the ESI and PF scheme. If your employer has

enrolled you under ESI and PF from the date of appointment as trainee then the ESI PF amount has be deducted from the time

    of appointment an trainee.

If your employer has enroled you under ESI and PF from the date of promotion then the ESI PF amount will be deducted from

    the time of promotion.

    Dear..

Generally the PF and ESI contribution start from the date of joining means the first day of your job but in your case it was not happened. This might ave happened because many trainee often leave job in the training period only and in that case company has to make an extra effort to open an account and after that telling the authority to block the account again.

Your company must be having a strategy of ESI and PF deduction only for permanent employee. No need to be panic on this as for those three months you already got your full salary means no PF and ESI deduction and dear money not spent is money earned.

    Hope it will help you.

    Cheers...!!!

    Hi,

As you have mentioned that once you have completed your probation period of 3 months, and got permanent, you got new appointment letter which contains the details about deduction of PF and ESI also, but the same terms was not mentioned in the old appointment letter which you got at the time of joining, So it means for those 3 months you got the entire salary without any deduction of PF and ESI.
Although the PF and ESI amount deduction starts from the very first day of joining, but sometimes so many peoples leave the company in probation period only, so just to avoid an extra effort to get open and close the account later, company used to apply this concept. They start it once the employee get confirmed. So all in all there is no harm on you of this as you would have already got the entire salary for 3 months. Now onwards your PF and ESI will get deducted accordingly and you will get the rest of the salary.
