The colleague who sits near me keeps on smoking, which is affecting my health

I am working in a private company. One of my colleagues who sits near me at our workplace has a very bad habit of smoking at the workplace. I don’t know why anyone doesn’t object to it. But this is certainly affecting my health. What should I do in such a situation?

Dear, you should ask him to stop smoking in public place. Make him aware of the serious consequences of smoking and also about the second hand smoking. Tell him that this behaviour of him can make others unhealthy and will attract displeasure from other co-workers. If he had become a serious addicted to smoking then ask him to smoke in a private place. Being a good friend try to ask him to stop it or join some centers built for making a person de-addicted to any kind of drug or alcohol.

    Hello,

You can complain about this to your boss so that he makes the office premise a no-smoking zone.In most cases smoking is not allowed within office premises.I dont know for what reason your office is an exception to this rule.Your boss should make it a point to implement this rule in your office too.If he doesnot do so then exchange your cabin with someone else who sits a bit far from this man who keeps on smoking ! If required show a medical cerficate by your physician that passive smoking is affecting your health.Implementation of the either of the two option will solve your problem!

Many people doesn't know but this is correct that even if you don't smoke but sit near by persons who are smoking are also equally affected.

It is better you first talk to him and tell him that your are uncomfortable with it and request him to smoke somewhere else if he wishes to.

If he doesn't understands your problem and continues with the habit than you should go and talk to your boss about this issue.

Tell him that you feel uncomfortable due to this and thus not able to work properly in the office.

Ask him if it is possible to change your place.

Don't feel any hesitation on talking on such issues as it is related to your health and you are the only person who can take the best care of it.

So take quick action as more time will you take more you will be affected with it.

    hello,
everyone today has a habit of smoking and today it has become fashion and even a small aged one starts smoking at an early age.this should be banned but no one is stepping further to take an action regarding it.
as you said he is your collegue then you can tell him the situation in a friendly way by saying him that you are getting health issues if you smoke beside him and say him that it is the bad habit.
say him that it is not good for him and for the person sitting next to him and say that there are many dangerous diseases goind on by smoking.
if he listens then its ok or else say directly to your boy to shift the place somewhere else so that you will avoid him.
no chance of changing your place then its better to give a complaint regarding it to your boss.
    thank you................
