Client’s unethical practice of sending expensive gifts caught by owner

We work in an advertising agency where we take care of client’s projects. Recently, our owner noticed that a couple of executives have been accepting favours from the clients. He is made and wish to fire all but we cannot afford to do so. Please share a way to fix this unethical practice.

Re: Client’s unethical practice of sending expensive gifts caught by owner

    Hi aspirant

I can definitely understand your dilemma in such a situation. You should definitely not keep mum over this matter and let your employees continue with such unethical practices. They should definitely be taught a lesson so that they don't repeat such things in future. Ofcourse you cannot fire all of them simultaneously but you should definitely punish them severely. You should tell your owner to immediately call all such clients to his office.

He should tell them that he has found out that they have been accepting favours from the clients. Ideally they should all be terminated for such unethical practices but as that is not possible, you give them a last warning that they should immediately stop such practices and if caught again will definitely lose their jobs. Also now they will be given severe punishment as there salaries will be decreased and they will be demoted from their positions. You hope that they will take care not to practice such things in future.

I am sure that they will feel ashamed of themselves and will never repeat such a thing again. Good luck and Thanks
