Can we withdraw the PF amount from previous company where worked for less than 6 months?

I have worked in an accounting firm for less than 6 months and did not serve the notice period. The company has not provided the relieving letter. Now after 6 months I have got opportunity in a MNC company as an accounting coordinator. I want to know whether I can withdraw the amount from the previous company or should I transfer it to this company. Please suggest. How should I go for it?

You have two options. You an either withdraw the amount or transfer the amount to the new company.

For transferring the amount from one company to another company you have to file Form No.13 and 10 C together. For withdrawing the amount you have to submit form 10 C and Form 19 together. You can submit the withdrawal form only after 2 month from the date of termination from the first company.

But my advise to you is that you should transfer the PF amount to the new company which is more helpful to you.

Provident fund is for retirement stage/purpose so you must not withdraw the amount for personal use.you are an employ of pvt company so changing of company for the purpose of self development is an usual feature so the previous company's pf amount you transfer toward new company's pf a/c lawfully.this process is right and never feel discomfort for future.

    Thank you,

    Dear Aspirant,

To my mind you will have to struggle either to get your EPF amount transfered to the new company or to get its withdrawl since you have not resigned from the job in proper way.First of all you will have to get your resignation accepted,Then only you can either transfer your EPF amount to the new company or you can apply for its withdrawl. In order to get your PF transfered, you have to fill up the form no. 13 & 10C.Then you have to send it to the Regional Employees' provident Fund office through your previous company. The concerned company will send it to the EPF regional office with recommendation.

In order to withdraw the EPF amount, you are required to apply in FORM NO.10C & 19 after two months of leaving the job & at that time you should not be in job.

Transfer is advised instead of withdrawl of EPF.

    Thanks.

    Ashok

DEAR YOUR QUESTION ABOUT THE PF WHAT YOU WILL DO?EITHER TO WITHDREW OR TO TRANSFER THE FUND TO NEW COMPANY WHERE YOU SERVED FOR 6 MONTHS.

FRIEND AS WE KNOW PROVIDENT FUND IS CONCERNED FOR FUTURE PROVISION ie AT THE TIME OF SUPERANNUATION THIS FUND IS AVAILABLE WHICH IS VERY ESSENTIAL AT THAT PERIOD.SO YOUR JOB IN PVT COMPANY IT IS SURE TO GET INFLATED PF AT THE TIME OF RETIREMENT YOU MUST TRANSFER THE PREVIOUS COMPANY'S PF TO YOUR NEW PF COMPANY'S PF LAWFULLY.IF YOU OPT THIS PROCESS AT THE POINT OF EVERY CHANGE OF COMPANY FOR SELF DEVELOPMENT YOU MUST NOT FEEL ANY KIND FUND PROBLEM IN FUTURE.

    THANK YOU,
