    Can we take leave during probation? What will be the effect on the salary?

    I have joined this company 2 months back. This is my probationary period. I want an urgent leave. I donít know what the process is. Can I take leave during this probationary period? Will it effect on my salary? How many leaves I can take during this probation?

    Hi friend,


    Usually its not advisable to take leaves during training period

    The reason is per day training class is essential and if you miss the concepts it will break the continuity in learning

    Emergency leaves are considered still unnecessary leaves can be avoided

    Maximum of 5 leaves can be availed during training period

    Sick leaves if extends beyond 5 days in such case the employee will be asked to continue training in the next scheduled batch after recovery

    So please look after your health .. Prepare yourself mentally and physically before joining the company to make successful completion of training

    Training period has impact on your salary and project accomplishments

    Perform well in training . Don't do any malpractice in training period which will lead to termination from Job

    Dear friend,

    First of all I would strongly suggest you to go for only paid leaves not for the unpaid leaves during your probation period. As it may affect your permanent roles in the company.
    Number of paid leaves during probation period varies from company to company, generally it ranges between 4 to 6 days in most of the companies if probation period is of 6 months. Later these numbers get increased after the completion of your probation period.
    Well if you do not have left paid leaves you can go for unpaid leaves or leave without pay , but it is not advisable to avail those leaves, still if you want to go for Leave without pay, I would suggest you to take those leave on a strong ground such as medical grounds.

    Hello Friend,
    you should not take leave during probation period because you will be under continuous and rigorous training during that period.any day off and you will miss many things and which they wont provide extra class for you.so you have to mange that by self study for the exam.however if you are saying its urgent you can take leave but limit it to 2-3 max to max 1 week if its that urgent.in few companies the probation period is usually 6months or less however in govt jobs or banking sector the probation period is of 1-2 years in such long probation period you can take leave if you required but when it is for few months avoid taking small leaves.because during probation period your under scrutiny and any mistake form your side can lead to termination so be careful before doing any thing wrong.
