Can the redundancy offer be cancelled at the last minute?

Can my company cancel my redundancy offer at last minute. I am due to go off work in about a week and still have not received any official paperwork or money. I have already made plans to start my own work after a week and now I am afraid they are going to cancel the offer.

Re: Can the redundancy offer be cancelled at the last minute?

    Hi aspirant

If you really want to start your own work as you think it will be more suitable and profitable for you as well as you will gain more from it and are supremely confident about the same, then you should definitely not cancel your plans even if your company cancels your redundancy offer at the last minute. As there is no official paerwork in your hands for the redundancy offer made by your company, so you have no proof in this case and are thus helpless. You should have seen to it that you had the official paperwork as soon as the offer was made. But now its too late I think and so you have take a stand at this point.

Firstly you go and speak to your manager regarding this issue and ask him the reason for cancelling the redundancy offer at the last minute after making you a promise for the same. Tell them that you want to start your own work soon and thus if they cancel this offer at the last minute, it will be not good for you. Hope they will look into this matter and thus not cancel the offer as you would have to face a lot of trouble for this.

Now if your manager agrees and thus you manage in persuading him then its all good for you but in case he doesnt agree then you should resign from the job and serve the notice period and leave. I know it will take some time but its never too late to mend. Dont drop your plans and go for them. Hope you have a bright future.

    All the best and Thanks
