    Can increase in the welfare amenities to employees work as one of the motivations?

    I am working in this company from past 2 years. My salary is less and planning to change the company. I spoke about this to my manager. He said that he cannot increase the salary at this time but he will increase welfare amenities for employees. Can increase in welfare amenities to employees work as one of the motivations? Please help me what I should do.

    Dear Aspirant,

    The management of the company is fully entitle to increase th welfare amenities to the employee.

    You have to see what new amenities you are going to get & if you are satisfied with that amenities only,you can continue to work there otherwise you can try for the next job with higher pay.

    As you have been working in the company for past 2 years you definitely demand your higher officials for the salary hike.

    But as your higher officials are saying that they would not raise your salary but can increase your welfare amenities.

    I think its a good sign as increase in the welfare amenities to employees is one of the motivation.

    Now-a-days nothing comes for less price.

    As every commodity price is increasing if you get better salary also its going to be a burden for you.

    As your company has said that they would increase your welfare amenities, make sure that the following welfare amenities are included in that so that you can enjoy all the benefits.

    3. Transportation.

    4. Sports Facilities.

    5. Leave Travel.

    6. Vocational Training.

    These are all the Extramural welfare facilities that can be offered by a company.

    Here is the list of Intramural Welfare facilities:-

    6. Canteens.

    7. Medical Aid.


    I would definitely say that the increase in the welfare amenities is always a motivation to the employees.

    So you can definitely continue in that company if you want to.

    Generally welfare amenities means medical claim,medical insurance,higher studies benefits etc.

    Welfare ammentities can obviously work as a motivator to employees.
    But at the same time each human being has different thinking and same thing cant motivate all the employees.

    So for some employees only Money and hike in Salary can work as Motivator and for some additional facilities and ammenities can also work as Motivator

    So its upto you to decide, If you are getting a good salary hike say in excess of 25% from your present salary and also the company is better than your current company than you can obviously join that company.

    As at the end of the day, we require Rupees or money to live and spend.
    Welfare ammenties will be there in the office only.

    Hi Ya surely the increase in welfare amenities should act as a motivation to the employees.You should see that what extra amenities and benefits he is providing you will benefit you in some way or the other. If they are of value to you then you should certainly retain this job and wait for a salary hike at a later stage.

    I think your manager has certainly been very generous in providing you extra benefits. Not many people are like that.

    Increase in your salary depends on several factors Like your designation,hardwork,and good performance in the workfeild.

    But if your manager is offering welfare ameneties then do go through it in details and accept it as these ameneties includes several benefits which will be provided to you by your company ,

    take a detail study of it and make your own decision.

    Go through the details about the amenities.

    If they are good then go for it.

    If you want to change your job, then you should look for a good opportunity and if you find that then you can change it .
