Can I be terminated from my services because of the fault of some other employees under me?

I am work with a reputed private company which has collaboration with US. I am the head of one of the departments. Recently due to the mistake of one of my subordinates, I am being asked by the HR Department to sign the resignation letter. Can I take some legal action? How do I protect my job in such a situation?

    Hello !!!

sorry !! you cant take any legal option regarding this.
since you are working in the private company and not in the public sector or government sector that one mistake can be forgived.
so, if you really want to save your job, than ask them to give you one more chance.
hope you will get another chance if your previous job profile is good enough to help you out .

also don't forget that even one mistake of your junior will affect you drastically.

hope i am clear to you.
    thanks for posting in EALP.

    Dear Aspirant,

you situation is very critical. The situation prevailing with you is not new & it happens usually. If you have given a work order in writing to the concerned employee which he has not followed, then the concerned employee may be punished to per the policy of the company.Otherwise, you can not say that your subordinate employee has done mistake.Of course, the resignation is the last step of action. It should not be demanded till the loss is not recoverable.

So you may protect your job by takin legal action. Also you can first try to convince your manager HR orally & may ask to execuse you being the first time. Also,if your request is considered, you have to be very alert in future.Meanwhile, you can try for other job to get still better job.

    Thanks & good luck.

Dear friend you are serving in a reputed pvt company collaboration with US.You are doing role in the company as department head and one of your subordinate staff has committed mistake as a result HR Department ask you to submit resignation. You are thinking about to take legal action against HR Department.

To take legal action you are to consider following things.

1.First as a department head you are to know what are the duties and liabilities is attached with your chair.

2.First you see the loss which is done by subordinate staff is caused due to your negligence.

3.The mistake which is done due to your illegal permission to do that work.

4.So, you must keep eye what is legal or what is not illegal first.

Dear friend if your negligence is above type then you must do apology to HR Department and do promise about such negligence that never will take place again, if there is monetary loss then give compensation from your pocket and try to manage your job with friendly relation.

    Thank you,
