    Can I question back to the HR if he rejects me for being a 9.5 student?

    I am studying B.Tech in KIIT University. Our on-campus placement has started. The last the company was Deloitte who recruited 42 students. out of which 31 were girls. For girls interview was taken in between 10 to 1 'o'clock. For boys it passed to night 1 'o' clock. I was there for interview starting from the morning and waited for my turn. I was called at 12.30 am. Seeing my pointer HR just said that we had already recruited a girl of this pointer so we are sorry we can not recruit you. I was going to ask him why is it so. If he has planned so far then after recruiting that girl he should have mentioned or declared that student of 9 pointer range should not wait for the interview. Instead he just said that I can not get the job. What should I have said back to him? Will complaining back to him create a bad impression on the Training and Placement department of our college?

    Hi,
    Yes i am agree with you, if HR already selected a girl candidate then its HR duty that formally announced or declared that student of 9 pointer range should not wait for the interview, as we already selected/finalize one candidate.
    So in this case you can make a complaint to your T.P.D( Training and Placement department) of your college, so that at least truth comes in front of all students. Also you mention that "he just said that you cannot get the job", then dear according to me have a patience and there are lots of opportunity comes. IT field have too many small and large companies. Also some of them hire fresher candidate. So be chill and increase your knowledge and personality so that you can crack future interviews.

    Hello Friend,

    Well, i can understand you pain and agony. It is very had to wait for such long time for the interview process. Only a handful of strong willed individual can sope with such intense pressure. the cardinal rule of any interview to stick to your basics i.e don't say any controversial remark, talk to the interviewer in a polite manner etc. It seems to you have crossed the line. You should have never said these words to the interviewer. Weather we like it or not during the time of interview we have no control over the interview process. You have to accept the final decision of the interviewer. Next time onwards, stick to your own strength and speak when you are told to do so.

    Dear Aspirant,

    See many things happens in life & it is not possible for a person to protest for each & every thing.Person should have ability to tolerate to some extend.If you complain the matter,there is no chance to rearrange for interview to you,because the company might have left the campus.You can do one thing.You can report the matter to the manager HR not to repeat it in future by some other company.The fact must be brought calmly to the concerned authority so that they can be careful in future.You should not show your anger,instead you should say the fact peacefully & regretfully.

    If your place the matter in a good manner,others may not feel otherwise instead they can realize for the same.

    So see to it carefully.

    Hello..

    you showed your acceptance to the HR that you have respected to his words. Now that you know that job offer was no more , and you have nothing to lose anymore related to that job offer. You should talk to your training officer regarding this that if they had selected another candidate, they should have announced it earlier. And what I think , if two people have same pointer then this reason for rejection is not appropriate . They should have given a chance. You tell this to your training officer . I hope they will look into the matter and you will not face this type of problem again.
