Can I get the unavailable drugs in Railway hospital from outside the hospital?

I am an employee in railways. The doctor of a private nursing home prescribes some medicines which are not available in railway hospital. Can I get those medicines from outside of the hospital through railways? Can a railway doctor prescribe those medicines for me?

    Dear Aspirant,

Of course you can get the medicines from out side on cash & not through railway which are not available in railway hospital because railway is a govt. organisation & medicines which are made available in the railway hospital through a procedure.

The doctor on duty in railway hospital can prescibe the medicines which are not available in the said hospital for the welfare of the patient.

Of course, you can get back the amount expensed in purchase of medicine if you have got reimbursement facility.

So enquire in your account section regarding the reimursement facility.

    Thanks & good luck.

Hi. ya you can surely get those drugs which are not avai;able in your railways hospital from outside depending upon the availability of these drugs. If these drugs are easily available in the market then you will surely get them. Generally the doctors only prescribe those drugs which are easily available and thus are easy to buy for the patients. You can surely ask your railways doctor to prescribe them for you and if he feels that these are appropriate for your medical condition then he will surely give a prescription for the same. Then you can go any nearby medical store and show them the prescription. If those drugs are available they will surely give them to you.

You can also ask for some discount from your railways dept and maybe they will pay a certain amount on your behalf as some medical reimbursement if the facility is available for you. In medical reimbursement even your whole amount spent on medicines may be refunded. If this facility is not available then you can go to the shop and they may give you the discount based on your being a railway employee. Or maybe your doctor has atieup with certain medical store , then you can go to that particular medical store and thus avail your discount.

Thus dont worry you have many options open for you and you will certainly get the medicines you wany even if they are not available in your own hospital. Good luck friend
