Can I copy another institution's name when it is not registered? Whether it will be illegal to do so?

I am a choreographer and want to establish a dance Institute. I am getting any good name for it so I decided to copy it. There is a small institute in my city which is not so popular and I am sure its name is not registered. Would it be illegal to copy its name or not? Can I register this name before launching my institute?

First make sure whether it's name is registered or not.If it is registered and you too regiater the same name the person may have a right to lodge a complaint against you. It's better to search for another name. Why do you need the same name? There are many other names by which students get attracted .Search for a good name and add a caption to the name.Your caption should be in such a way that by reading the caption people should be able know the quality in your institute.

If the name was registered then you need to pay the fine. So find clearly then after you can use their institute name.

Actually it is not Illegal to use another institute name if the name is not registered. If it is registered you cannot use.

There will be no harm nor it's illegal in using the same name of the institute which is not registered under any act. Firstly make sure and confirm that, the institute is not registered under any act, if it's registered and you use the same name, then an legal action will be taken by that institute manager. By filling an Right to information (Rti) application, you can come to know whether it is registered or not. Morever I Won't suggest you to copy the name, there are many different names you can use that and saved from all kind of difficulty.

Hi. I dont think you should copy the name of the institute without finding out whether its registered or not. Firstly you should make it 100% percent sure whether its registered or not. Then you can take your decision accordingly.

Dont try to indulge in illegal things as they may lead to legal implications later on and you may have to pay a huge penalty for that.

Plus i dont think you need to copy the name at all. As you are a creative person as can be seen from your profession you can surely come up with a decent name for your institute. If not you can take the help of your friends and family. They will surely give you some good ideas.

Please dont do anything wrong on impulse. Take your decision wisely. Best of luck. Thanks

Re: Can I copy another institution's name when it is not registered? Whether it will be illegal to do so?

First certify whether or not it's name is registered or not.If it's registered and you too register an equivalent name the person could have a right to lodge a criticism against you. It's higher to look for one more name. Why does one want an equivalent name? There area unit several different names by that students get attracted .

Search for an honest name and add a caption to the name.Your caption ought to be in such some way that by reading the caption folks ought to be ready grasp the standard in your institute.

if you're certain this can be not registered then you'll be able to go upstairs.you can register thereupon name.no law that indicates it's amerciable.but affirmative if that name is registered then you'll fall in downside.so first off clear it.& conjointly i like you to travel with the other smart name.because name of any firm ne'er matters.the issue that matter is however you teach your students.there is numerous names that area unit very therefore smart.

There will be no hurt nor it's amerciable in exploitation an equivalent name of the institute that isn't registered below any act. first off certify and make sure that, the institute isn't registered below any act, if it's registered and you employ an equivalent name, then AN action are going to be taken by that institute manager.

By filling AN Right to info (Rti) application, you'll be able to return to understand whether or not it's registered or not. Morever I will not counsel you to repeat the name, there area unit many alternative names you'll be able to use that and saved from all reasonably problem.

Re: Can I copy another institution's name when it is not registered? Whether it will be illegal to do so?

Dear questioner when you are register your institution then you are not liable if any similar name exist in and around your place.suppose godly say you kept your institution's name "ankur" you dire d not know whether any institution keeping the same name then it is the register's duty to restrict you for changing the name as same name is used at your locality.there are reasons if same name kept then regarding identification/letter deliver good will etc may or surely create demerits so for your interest you should refrain your self from copying and in case of it is done without information then registerd no giver must stop it.

Accordingly your problem does not matter it is not illegal as institution's name is not registered legally you are free only for your own interest you can add as new...old(new ankur)this will safe guard you in all respects.ok

    thank you,

Hi..I dont think you should try to do anything illegal because if you do so you will have to pay for the same later on..So strictly speaking i dont think you should copy the name of that institute and thus take permission from them before using their name..

Firstly as you are already in a creative field i.e. a choreographer , i think you have the ability or the creativity to think of a good name for your institute..Dont underestimate yourself ..Have confidence and i am sure you will find that you can certainly come up with a unique name for your institute..If you cant then you can consult your friends, family or relatives for the same and they will surely give some ideas..

But still if you want to use that name you better get permission from them and use it legally rather then getting into something illegal..

I hope you understand..Best of luck and Thanks

    Dear..

If the name is registered then you can not use his institutes name without his permission. If you are damn sure that the name is nowhere registered then you can proceed and use the name of that institute and he/she can not do anything in this case.

One thing i want to tell you more that instead of copying the name i advice you to think for a good name or else use internet to find some name as this will help you to make your own identity. There are various sites where you can search for good names. You can also copy name from various foreign bands or dance groups but do not copy it from your city's dance group.

Its the hard work that will work and the name will be famous automatically. If you go for some another name and work hard then i am sure that you will be famous with that name also so think about it and then only proceed.

Hope it will work for you

    All the best

    Hello Friend,

When You Have Going To Registration Office And You Give Your Application With Institute Name And If They Not Register Than You Able To Take It..... And Make Popular Of Your Institution....

    But Suggestion :

    >> Firstly Go To Registration Office
    >> Than Meet With Officers For Relating Information
    >> Than Ask The Question (Means You Give The Name Which Are Not Register)
    >> Than They Provided Accurate Information
    >> After That Take Suitable Action According To Got Information......

    All The Best....

    Dear Asker!
As per my knowledge it can be illegal. Because you can not copy your institute name same if you want to registration for same name for other institute's name. That Institute have right to take action against you to do any things. I would suggest you for better option , you can open new institute and put institute's name as per your choice contacting by expert. I hope that you will get better option instead of copy other institute's name for your institute.

    Hello Sir,
It will be illegal if the other institute raise a complain over the issue .you need to first move to the registrar office with the matter and consult with them whether it is lawfully possible to have same name for two institutes and if one is not registered can the other be registered with the same name.they will suggest you the solution.else you can talk to the other institute's head and make him agree to give the name to you and dont raise any issue in future and you can give him some amount in return but be careful to make it over a court paper and register your institute asap once you get confirmation from the other institute.
    Thank You.
