    Can a Army personnel after retirement and at an age of 34 years eligible for Civil service exams?

    I am a Defence person and will go pension on 28 Feb 2015 at the age of 34 years. Am I eligible for Civil Service exams, up to what age limits ?

    Yes you are eligible to face civil seivice examination conducted every year.you are 34 years' old no matter as you will get age relaxation as you are an ex defence employee.relaxation for s/c s/t 5 years for obc 3 years and for defence personal so you will get 10 years' relaxation so you are eligible to sit for the prestigeious job and examination civil serice at the age of 34.

    Hi sir
    Any central'force employee i mean ex army person is eligeble to wrtie upsc,ias,pcs,ssc exam.
    *the age limit for these exams are following this
    *General category till 27 years
    *obc category till 30 years
    *sc/st category 32 years.
    *PH AND EX-SERVICE MAN(ARMY,BSF,CRPF) category 37 years is maximum age.
    So you can write 2 or 3 exam or whenever your age reched the peak point of disqualification.
    I hope these information is enough to understand the various of ages.

    YES, you can apply for the UPSC civil services Exams.

    Below is the Eligibilty Criterai:
    Min Educational Qualifications required is Graduation pass in any stream

    AGE- Minimum age to apply is 21 years for all the candidates.
    Maximum Age to apply is 30 years for General Candidates
    33 years for OBC candiadtes
    35 years for SC/ST candidates
    35 years for the the EX-Servicemen including comissioned officers and ECO/SSCO who have rendered 5 years of minimum service.

    So as you can see from the above eliginbilty criteria, you can apply.

    This exam is held in three stages:
    >> Prelims
    >> Mains
    >> Interview

    So if you are serious about giving this exams start your preparations now.

    You will get Age Relaxation as you are an X Defence employee. relaxation for SC , ST 5 years and for OBC 3 years and for defence personal.

    So you will get 10 years relaxation so you are eligible to sit for this job. and examination civil service at the age of 34 .



    The Exam is held in three stages :
    Prelims
    mains
    Interview.

    Hello Sir,
    You are eligible for Civilservice exam,as you are an ex service man you have an age relaxation period of 5 yrs than general.so i.e upto 35 years.soo as you are just 34 you can appear the exam.no problem is there.

    hello sir -you are fully eligible for appearing civil services exam.Any employees who have done work in army or any central police force can get relaxation up to five years. generally the age limits for this exam are following ----for General category till 27 years for obc category till 30 years for sc/st category 32 yearsAnd for PH AND EX-man can get upto relaxation 3to 10 years. So you can appear 2 or 3 exam in future.best of luck

    In my view....

    1) Yes, you are eligible to face civil service examination conducted every year.

    Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Indian Civil Service Examination

    Candidate should posses a degree in any discipline from a reputed university or institute and if you are pursuing final year or appearing final year examination or awaited for final year result then also you can apply for this examination but only for preliminary not for mains

    Your age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that can only be claimed by reserved category candidates as - SC, ST, OBC, PWD and ESM

    5 years of upper age relaxation for SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen category candidates

    10 years of upper age relaxation for candidates belonging to Person With Disability

    9 years of upper age relaxation for female candidates who have been divorced/ separated/ widow

    So you are the Ex-Servicemen and you can claim for upper age relaxation of 5 years so you are allowed to appear for Indian Civil Service Examination till 35 years of age

    This year's Indian Civil Service Examination (Preliminary) has been conducted at 26th of May 2013 and Main examination is going to be held at 1st of December 2013 so next ICS Prelims will be scheduled around April-May 2014 and you should be ready for that because you have around 10 months to get prepared well for examination that is why you should begin preparation without wasting a single second of your time

    Examination Pattern and Selection Procedure for Indian Civil Service Exam :

    Preliminary Examination : Two papers will be conducted in this examination in objective type pattern and papers are - General Studies and CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test and each contains 200 marks

    Passing in preliminary examination is compulsory by qualifying minimum qualifying marks according to your category and if you fail then you will not be allowed to appear for main examination

    Main Examination : This is completely conventional type examination that has seven different papers which are following as :

    Paper I - Section I for Essay - 200 marks and Section II is for English Comprehension - 100 marks

    Paper II, III, IV & V - Based on General Studies and contains 250 marks for each

    Paper VI and VII - Based on the selected optional subject from the list given in application form - 250 marks each

    Passing in each of these papers is compulsory then only you will be called for personality test

    Personality Test/ Personal Interview Process : 275 marks and if you pass this procedure then you will become an IAS Officer in India according to your rank scored in examination

    If possible then you can take coaching classes to prepare well because you are something unaware and not prepared well for this examination and if you will start preparation with assistance and guidance then you may achieve your target easily

    As you are a ex-service man you are eligible for the civil service examination at the age of 34 years.

    the following are the eligibilities for the civil service examination:
    citizen of India
    should have a degree from the recognised university
    age: 30 years for general category
    33 years for OBC
    35 years for sc/st
    35 years for ex-service man.

    prelims
    mains
    interview
