Boss is inviting me to unofficial parties

I am a female employee working in a software company. Our boss is a very friendly person and maintains good relations with his employees. But recently he has been inviting me to some of his personal parties. I am really very afraid as I think he is trying to take undue advantage of me. What should I do as I donít want to lose this job?

    Hi friend

You should certainly let your boss take undue advantage of you in any way possible and should certainly maintain your integrity and respect which is the most important for a woman. Firstly you should not assume it that your boss is going to take advantage of you and thus try to test his intentions. You should not reject his invitation and atleast go to this personal party of his . There you can gauge his intentions and thus find out whether he is just being friendly or is trying to hit on you and thus take undue advantage.

If you find out that he is trying to take undue advantage of you then you should go and talk to him face to face. Dont be afraid that you will lose your job as your integrity is the most important for you even more important than your job. You should tell him that you will not come to his personal parties anymore and he should stop behaving in such a way with you. He should learn how to respect woman and should treat you like he treats his mother and sisters. He should behave with you in a proper manner like he behaves with rest of the employees.

I hope your boss will be ashamed of himself and hopefully will start behaving with you in a proper way. If he doesnt then it will be better for you to leave the job and thus find a good job where your boss respects you.

    Good luck and Thanks

    Hi friend ,

You should certainly not succumb to your boss's demands which you think are not genuine. You have to maintaijn your integroity and your boss should learn to respect women and not take undue advantage of them. You can certainly refuse your boss if you think you are not comfortable going with him to his personal parties. He should also try to understand your problem as you have your own responsibilities and are not always free to pleae your boss or indulge in his fantasies.

You should straightaway go and talk directly with your boss. Tell him that you are not comfortable attending such parties as you are not a very social person and thus would not accept his request. You are really sorrry for this behaviour but as you are afraod so you really dont want to go to such parties which involve drinking . You are sure he will understand your problem and also very thankful to him for giving you an invitation.

So if you reject your boss's request in such a diplomatic manner, I am sure he will not be angry with you and thus your problem will also be solved. Good luck
