    Boss forcing every employee to do overtime

    I am working in a software company. At present we have a lot of work pending in our office and thus our boss has ordered everyone to do overtime. But some of us have our responsibilities to take care of , so we canít afford to stay that late. How to tell our problem to our boss?

    You should certainly tell your boss about your problem and then let him decide what he wants. Its the duty of your boss to understand the problems of his employees and to help them out whenever they are in trouble. You should not be afraid to tell your boss about your problem but tell him what you feel about his decision to make every employee work overtime. Go and speak to him personally and also take other employees with you who have the same problem.

    Tell him that you have some of your responsibilities to take care of and thus can't afford to stay late and work overtime in office. You may take some of your work to your home and will surely try and complete it there. But you definitely can't work overtime for days together. You will surely try to do as much as you can and will definitely take care of your responsibility. You hope that he will understand your problem and thus give you permission to do so.

    Dear friend this is the crucial matter to the company as well as to the employee for the company's interest ie your interest you are bound to do overtime according to labour law.Ther is a limit that an employee can do overtime overtime in a month.It is good idea your software company is small in size. So you can minimise duties with each other again if majority of the employee is not favouring overtime then you keep suggestion to the management to recruit more to over come the unwanted situation.

    It is nothing wrong in expressing your grievances with your boss.Your boss is also a human being & he too have many problems.But only thing is that he is empowered to get works from you.He has experiences of many situations.So if you say your matter to him politely,he may realise it & grant your permission to leave the office in time to look after another responsibilities.You can say that ""Sir It is my opportunity to earn more money under you by working overtime,but because of having such problems,I am unable to stay in the office after ....Your desired time.So pease consider my case positively & allow me to leave the office in time.

    Hello,

    You have to make a balance between your official work and your responsibilities.If all of you start complaining and deny to do overtime work,then how will he manage the entire work burden.Year endking is nearing.Now if he gives importance to individual's problems then how will he be able to manager the entire work?You cannot ignore his responsibilities also.One thing that you can be done,is alternatively stay back at office till late and handle responsibility.If it is done on alternative basis,then no one of you will face the problem of staying back late on a regular badis.

    If there is a lot of work pending you all have to clear it,so there is no option than doing over time but if you have some personal issue then you may not work overtime daily but once or twice in a week is inevitable.if you dont want to stay long after the usual hour come early manage your break times and start your pending works so that yo dont have to do a lot in the company after the usual hour.if the work is pretty much high for all of you to take then you need to communicate to the manager then they will definitely short the problem out and they may internally transfer few candidates from other team to handle this work load or recruit some more from buffer so that they will help you to ease out the workload.

    Dear it is really going against the rules of the office working means your boss is not doing good with all of you so that you must be against this when you do not want then you should not do the work

    Each of your employee should get together and make a plan to talk to the boss directly because how long you will bare the same so that each one should be against this then your problem may be solved and go to the boss when he gets free and you all should tell to the boss that we all are not satisfied with our job because you are forcing us for overtime in the office because we work according to the rules and regulations and if you will ask for more then how can we do so because we gets tired in the entire day and we have some other works too after the office and we have to do that so we will not work from tomorrow and each one should be with you then your boss may understand and will stop forcing you all for overtime
