Boss deducted one month salary on losing data from system

I was provided with a PC at my desk where all my company’s personal data was loaded which was related to my work. Through an unfortunate short circuit the data in my PC got lost in which there was not my fault but boss charged my one month salary on my mistake of not taking the data backup.

    Hi aspirant

As you were in charge of the company's data, you should have taken all the precautions from preventing such a thing. You should definitely have backed up the company's data as soon as possible as such a thing could have happened anytime. Such things like short circuit , which are related to electricity , can occur anytime and one should make it a point to take all the precautionary measures. So as you were in charge of this, you are certainly to be blamed for this although you were not responsible for the short circuit.

So you should take this punishment sportingly and should not blame your boss for this as he certainly did the right thing. On your part you should make it a point to be careful from the next time and back up the company data. This data is very important as you know and any kind of loss can lead to grave consequences. So don't blame your boss unnecessarily and accept your mistake and move forward.

I hope that you will take a lesson from this happening and will never repeat it again. Good luck for your future

    Hi,

This is not at all fair....You should discuss the same with your boss regarding the fault which is not yours...
You have to told your manager the incident and the reward you have received... Ask not to provide any PC henceforth, why should you take that responsibility....

Better suggession is try for another job immediately...The policy of your organisation is not at all good...

Dear really this is not your mistake but somewhere you are also involved in this issue because when you was given a PC with important data for the work of the company then you must have created a backup of that data and all files but you didn't and this is your mistake and shows that you are something careless in your work and that is why you have been charged for one month salary and this is not good for you because manager deducted your entire salary not a part of the salary so this is going to be depressive for you and you should try to handle this situation by consulting with your manager

You should go to your manager and ask them that sir you also know that problem occurred because of a short circuit means I am not responsible for that issue but there is a mistake that I accept that I did not make backup of that data but sir you deducted my entire salary so this is not good because I survive on this amount and if you will cut whole salary then how will I be able to survive in this month when you have deducted whole salary so please give me back my salary and I will not commit such type of mistake again in future and if you want to charge then deduct about 25-30% part of my salary not entire otherwise I will not be able to come here again

    All the best

This is an unfortunate situation for you that you without any reason you have to bear such loss.

Instead of loosing hope you should take help of a computer/software specialist as there are some softwares by which you can take back your data to some

    extent which you have lost.

So it is better that instead of doing any thing else you give a try and possibly you might get your data back.

Moreover if you don't get your data back than you can mail your boss explaining your problem to him and ask not to take such tough decisions.

And assure him that you won't repeat such mistake again and will take care of such things in future.
