Which is a better option Fresher or Old employees with higher salary?

I have been appointed as the manager of a private company recently. Recently one of the experienced senior employee has decided to leave the company as he got better job offer of higher salary from a different company. He is a very efficient employee. Is it better to stop him from switching by providing higher salary or recruit fresher?

    Hi aspirant

I surely think you should try to retain the senior employee of the company rather than recruiting a fresher. You can provide him with a higher salary and then I am sure he will stay with you as his main complaint from you is the low salary as compared to the new offer. If you fulfill his demand he certainly will stay with you and not leave this job as its always difficult to adjust to a new work environment, so he will certainly prefer to continue working with you rather than join some new company if you provide him with a competetitive salary.

Also it would also be a good bargain for your company as he would have more experience than the new employee and also he knows everything about your company which the new employee will take time in adjusting to. So its definitely better if you retain this senior experienced official rather than recruiting a new one.

I hope you understand friend that OLD is Gold. Good luck and Thnaks

    Hey!
Your situation is understandable as the employee with a higher work experience is definitely an asset to the company. You will have to make a wise decision and analyze the situation very well. Your company will definitely lose an integral part of their company incase the senior employee leaves his job and joins the other company. You should make sure that the employee who leaves your organization doesn't leave with any grudges in his mind.

If the finances of the company allow then you should definitely ask him to stay back. I suggest that a senior employee deserves to stay in the company for all the hardwork that he has put in the company for the past so many years. He should be a given a higher salary and made to stay in the company. It is observed that you will have to spend a lot on the training of the company. It will not only be a waste of time and resources but also will lead to a decrease in the efficiency. The fresher will take a lot of time to reach the state where he is able to work as efficiently as the senior employee.

Also there might be a risk that the knowledge that the employee has gained from your organization will be utilized for the benefit of the organization that he will join later. You need to take control of that situation. Make sure that the employee doesn't take things for granted and doesn't take it for a ride that everytime he wants an increment he blackmails you that he will leave the job. You should make sure that the your good will gesture doesn't go against you. All the best!

    Hello !!

if he is better and efficien employee than it will be better for you to stop him from leavingbecause he is experienced one as well he knows the company very well as compared to any fresh employee.
if you hire fresh employee , he will take time to understand the work, he will be taking time to get adjusted to the office environment also he might be experienced or not as compared to your old employee.
keep in mind old is gold.
hope i am clear to you.
