Being terminated due to lack of punctuality

I have been working in a software company in Delhi from the past 2 years. But from the past 6 months , due to some problem or the other, I was not able to reach my office on time and this happened very often. So now my company has decided to terminate me for the lack of punctuality and have even given me the termination letter. Can I do anything to save my job?

    Hi Friend,
It is unfortunate that for not being punctual for some time during the year you are being terminated. But i think if you talk to your boss and explain to him your genuine resons for delay in reaching offce during the past 6 months, he whould definitely give you a second chance. He would also not be interested in losing an employee who worked with him for 2 continuous years.
You should convince your boss and live upto your words that you would be punctual in future. You can ask him to give you a few days' time to prove yourself .

You can remind him of your involvement in the projects or tasks that you worked on and achieved success and future projects that you had to work on so that he is aware of your imporrtance in the organisation and he may give time to prove yourself . Also, you can share with him future prospects of the company's business to make him realise that you are a dediacted employee and that it will be a loss to terminate you. Hence, you can avoid your termination.
    Good Luck

    Hello ,

Its an unfortunate incident that you got terminated for being late to your work but you should have been more carefull as puntuality really
shows your personality and your attitude .
Although you have been working there for 2 years , you say go upto your boss and explain all the genuine incidents that
kept you away from office on time .

    • Explain how in delhi , due to recent construction - all these diversions have been made which increased the traffic tremendously .

Also state the fact the you have been a great asset to the company by your involvement in all the projects
that have been taken and some are still under progress .

Try to convince him that you will definitely not repeat such an event again .
You should look for a diffenent place to live which is close by because your boss will not listen to you the next time
you repeat such an event . Tell him you have already started looking for a new place , this will give him some confidence
    about you .

    Hi aspirant

It would have been better if you have given a little more thought to this matter earlier and thus should not have let it reached such a critical stage. Now a lot of damage has been already done but ofcourse you should not dejected and disheartened by this and certainly try your best to save your job. Now let bygones be bygones abd try to start afresh. Go and talk to your manager and persuade him to not terminate you .

Tell your manager that you accept your fault that you have been highly irresponsible in the past 6 months and have come late to your workplace often. You were forced by some circumstances to do so but still you know that you should not have let it happened. So you know that now its too late to mend, but if they will give you another chance you promise them that you will come daily to your work on time and even before time , if possible, and will surely not let such a thing happen again. And if you come late even once you yourself will resign. You hope that they will consder you request and give you another chance.

I hope your manager accepts your request and give you another chance. Good luck

    Hello Friend,
Its really difficult to get the job back once you have got your termination letter, you can just request your manager and HR concerned to consider your past mistakes and give you another chance and you wont repeat the mistakes again.in the first instance friend you should have given priority to your job than any other thing...as you have said you have been getting delayed for last 6 months to the job its not that simple. its only because your carelessness towards job and i believe that the manager and HR must have warned you before the termination and you should have taken it seriously and from that day you should have changed your timing and come to office early.
now as you already been terminated so nothing much you can do apart from requesting the HR and manager to take you back in the job ,if they give you another chance dont repeat your mistake and if they dont give you another chance then take this termination as a lesson and whereever you work next dont repeat this carelessness.

    Thank you
