    Being terminated due to colleague’s fault

    I am working in an automobile company. Recently I had a fight with one of my colleagues. He is very short tempered and has been previously also reprimanded and warned for such behaviour. But now the company is thinking of terminating both of us for that fight we had. I have told them that this was my first time but they are not ready to listen,. What should I do to save my job?

    hello friendabsolutely you are in big trouble.You can save your job in special cases likeyour past employee details is goodyou did not fight anyone in this company before this incidentyou are a responsible personyour need is worthy for company.Dear if you belong to any two category then your chance may be probable neither not possible.Because any higher authority become angry on any employees then stay at same place is very tight.But you should request in written application that in future any case will not rise and this incident is last and final.may be as a being human your boss will cancel your termination order.best of luck

    I think everyone should be given a second chance. So your company should certainly consider the fact that this was the first time you were involved in such a fight and also that the person who fought with you is notorious for such quarrels and so he must certainly be the root cause of such a quarrel. Keeping all these points in mind they should certainly understand your position and leave you with a warning. They should not terminate you for something which in the first place was not even started by you. So you should not withstand such injustice at the hands of your management and go and request them again.

    You should go and talk to your manager again if you have already done it it once. Tell him that it was the first time that you were involved in such a quarrel and also as they know quite well that the other person is notorious for having such quarrels frequently. Also it was not your fault and that you were instigated by him. So you certainly should be given atleast one chance before being treated so harshly. Tell him that you request him to give you a chance and you will make sure that you dont repeat it again.

    Your situation is very critical.You should have avoided that quarrel knowing that your opponent is well known for the matter concerned.However think that past is past & try to be away from such colleague.If you are provoked to quarrel,just report the matter to your boss with some of your well wisher.

    Now the question is your management is not realising that you are not faulty in the matter concerned.In this case you are advised to meet the manager HR/M.D/CEO personally & try to get them convinced that you are not faulty.Narrate the whole story of your conflict with your notorious friend & assure the management that you won't give any chance to repeat the matter in future.Being first time you may be execused.In general it is done for all for execusable mistake.You have not committed any crime.I think you have defended yourself for which even law permits.You can give in writing to the management not to repeat the same in future,if your management wants it.Also get yourself recommended with the immediate senior/boss to the management.This may make the management to be positive in your side.But you must have your hand with you mentioningthat if any such problem arises,you will report the matter to the management.
