I am working as a general manager in a private concern. I wanted to save my tax as my salary comes under the deductions of tax. Can I take half salary as cash so that no tax is deductible and a smaller amount of tax be deducted to the amount credited to my account?

You should not do this.
If you take half salary as cash and half through bank payment, than it is not a good practice.
You should take the salary as per the mode of payment given by your company.

Every employee has to pay tax based on their tax slab. It is not good practice to take half salary as cash remaining half through bank.
Tax is main component in the development of country. So as a responsible citizen of india it is good to pay tax.
