Dear there is no chance of getting jobs in it and telecom sector owing color blindness.these sector's can not allow you to do jobs so before completion you degree you are to think well where you are to get engineering jobs.

Being a it professional you can do job in govt/state govt/goi job /ugc etc where chance of loosing monetary gain to the concern where you will work.as the job does not need whether you are owing color blindness or not,you will get equel status/satisfaction from your job.

    Thank you,

You are not allowed either to work in IT or in Telecom Industry.Because both company disallow to appoint color blind candidates.Rather you can try for IBPS,UPSC.SBI,PVT BANKS JOB WHERE YOU CAN DO WORK.BECAUSE I.T. & Telecom company need normal vision it is mandatory to keep in force as the rules laid down by the competant authority of I.T.and Telecom Industry.

    Thank you,

    Dear friend

To be eligible in the IT or the telecom sector you have to physically and mentally strong enough to carry out the work..

BUt COLOR Blindness is not accepted in this sector so you are not eligible for this sector better other sectors like the Banking Sector,Government jobs having reservation for the physically challenged person..

SO try for this and dont get disheartened by my answer..

If there is a will there is a hope..

    ALL THE BEST

    Dear..

Color blindness is a disease in which a person is not able to differentiate between different colors and in that case you will not be able to get the job as being a technical student you need to work on technical parts where you this disease can put you in trouble.

I advice you to start preparation for bank and other jobs as in govt. sector there are certain jobs in which a color blind people are eligible to get a job and you can ensure a safe and sound future there.

Teaching can also be a good option for you.

    Hope it will help

    Cheers...!!!

    Yes friend,

You are eligible for the IT or TELECOM company with color blindness.
The all companies need the worth about the work. So,can join in the IT sector after taking the operation of color blind ness.If you have less color blind ness then you can join in IT sector.

    >>> Some IT or TELECOM companies are:

    1. Infosys.
    2. IBM>
    3. TCS.
    4. Oracle.
    5. Polaries.
    6. Wipro.

    >>> Telecom companies are :

    1. Nokia.
    2. Airtel.
    3. Saskan.
    4. Uninor etc.

So,don't worry you can hopefully join in IT or TELECOM with color blind ness.It should not be more.

Re: Am I eligible for job in IT or Telecom company being a Colour blind?

I am operating in Telecoms sector to the current sector there's no thanks to do the work for color blind man, neither work attainable thereto sector still.
As a result of in these field ought to open our mind and eyes each to move.

You've got chance to bank sector solely.
    Act and build your career.
There is no likelihood of obtaining jobs in it and telecoms sector owing visual impairment.these sector's can't enable you to try to to jobs therefore before completion you degree you're to assume well wherever you're to urge engineering jobs.

Being a it skilled you'll do job in govt/state govt/goi job /ugc etc wherever likelihood of loosing financial gain to the priority wherever you may work.as the job doesn't want whether or not you're owing visual impairment or not,you will get equal status/satisfaction from your job.
You are not allowed either to figure in IT or in medium trade.Because each company interdict to appoint color blind candidates.Rather you'll vie IBPS,UPSC.SBI,PVT BANKS JOB wherever you'll work.BECAUSE I.T. & medium company want traditional vision it's obligatory to stay in effect because the rules set down by the competent authority of I.T.and medium trade.
Color blindness could be a sickness within which someone isn't ready to completely differentiate between different colors and in this case you may not be ready to get the duty as being a technical student you would like to figure on technical components wherever you this sickness will place you in hassle.
I recommendation you to begin preparation for bank and different jobs as in govt. sector there are bound jobs within which a color blind folks are eligible to urge employment and you'll guarantee a secure and sound future there.

Dear friend, dont worry, i am also same like u, passout from ECE in 2011 and am colourblind.I have worked in telecom sector, and only TCS is the company in IT sector which bars colourblind candidates, and that too those who are not able to read atleast half of ishatira plates(colourblind test plates), which means who have higher intensity of colourblindness.. U cant apply in petroleum and mining sector, as they strictly require people with good vision and completely free from colourblindness. Also those sector bans colourblinds which are associated with human lifes such as railways, DMRC,aviation,defence...And yes these people who are saying u to go for government psu's and banking sector, then i want to mention u that, only IDBI bank bans colourblind people, so be careful of that and in most of psu's they consider colourblind as medically unfit. So no need to worry u can apply for in any IT or telecom companies, just be careful of TCS that in medical ur able to recognize half of testing plates....Rest its go go go, And best of luck for ur future...

Re: Am I eligible for job in IT or Telecom company being a Colour blind?

I am color blind and worked in the telcom industry for over 20 years and had no issues. I had to concentrate a little more and separate the wires carefully, but knowing what the colored wires were ahead of time allowed me to differentiate between them. There are jobs out there that automatically restrict you...I know this because when I took the physical to join the Marine Corps, that's when I found out I was color blind and it automatically eliminated me from many job types. Aviation, electronics, etc. But I was a Field Radio Operator and Reconnaissance Marine. When I left after 8yrs I did alarm systems then the cable company. The Cable companies all eventually had internet and phone and I actually became a trainer and had to tech all the color codes!!! As I said...I just needed to separate them and compare them.

People think for some crazy reason that color blindness means you see in black and white!! Unbelievable... People like myself had no idea we were even color blind until we take a test for it!! Quite shocking I will say when you take the test and can't see the symbol they're asking for. But it doesn't mean we can't see the color!! It's when they are combined in a pattern that one color becomes indistinguishable. So a plaid shirt is a great example...green and red plaid you may not see the red and instead see it as different shade of green or as brown. It's difficult to explain but trust me when I say...we can ALL see those colors!! The other difference I've found through my family is I may see them as a different shade than they do. My biggest one is light pink and light green. Light green will look beige or gold to me.

So it's not like you can't work in the industry or do the jobs...it has more to do with what pre-employment tests, if they include a color blind test and if they deem it as a strict requirement for the job. Not only did I work with and teach what is called 25pair wire I also worked with fiber optic cabling and splicing which has massive amounts of color coded sheaths. Depending on the "fiber count" you had different sheath colors that separated other bundled sheaths which in turn contained the small glass fiber that all had a color coating. I NEVER made a mistake splicing the wrong fibers.

So the only biggy in my eyes (pun intended) was aviation. The lights associated with that field, there was absolutely noting I could do to distinguish between a light green and white light...they both appeared the same to me no matter what!!

I just read there is a pair of glasses stumbled upon while developing something entirely different that they found allowed color blind folks to see red and greens properly. Who knows how long it will take to approve and market that!!

So you can work in the field...but it all depends on the hiring party and definitely hinges on whether it's specifically spelled out in the job requirement and followed up with a test to weed those folks out. The ignorance that surrounds this topic is astounding though!! The other forum I came across had one person point blank say "no...people with color blindness can't work in any field that has different colors because people with color blindness only see black and white". I'm dead serious...the person wrote very well and appeared very intelligent, yet they believe that. Contending with lack of education and understanding about it and down right ignorance is the biggest issue we contend with...not the actual work itself!!

It's sad that this day in age we have to deal with this level of ignorance...really.

I've been unemployed for a couple years and actually coming up on 3yrs!! So this ignorance has me worried!! The job description for the local phone company contains this line in the requirement section- "Must have capability to distinguish colors on facilities". Which is far different than something like- must be able to pass color blind test 100%.

So wish me luck and good luck to you!! DO NOT let anything you read in these forums deter you from at least applying. Investigate directly for yourself and you may be very surprised at the outcome.
