After how many years of service an employee can be eligible to apply for gratuity?

I am working in a Godrej as a normal worker. I am not seeing any scope for promotion or any increment in my wages per day. I have worked here for more than 5 years. I have got a job in Government company and I have applied for relieving. Will I get gratuity in this company? How many years of service we should have to get this gratuity?

    Hello Aspirant,

As per the gratuity act,you have completed the minimum nos. of services to get gratuity. The minimum nos. of services required to get it is 5 years. You will get salary of 15 days for every completed year of your service. If you have completed 5 years of services, you will be getting salary of 2 & half month. The salary of a month for calculating gratuity is the average pay of the last 10 months salary.
So you can very well resign from job & join the govt.job.

    Thanks.
